If you own an RV and a boat, you’re one lucky sailor! Er, skipper? Er, captain? Whatever you are, you’re lucky!
Having a boat along with you on your RV travels, or just in general, can be such a wonderful way to see new places. Kayaking along the shores of beautiful alpine lakes… now that’s hard to beat! Or whale watching from your own fishing boat? Count us in! Oh, the places you’ll go… or row!
Whether it’s exploring hidden coves, fishing in tranquil waters, or simply relaxing with friends on the deck, having a boat adds a whole new dimension to your adventures.
It transforms a routine campsite into a gateway to endless fun, creating memories that will last a lifetime. That’s sort of cheesy, but it’s true!
Do you own a boat? If so, what kind? After you vote, please leave a comment and tell us about your boat.
And if you don’t own a boat, do you want one? What kind?

I already have a big hole I keep throwing money into (my RV). I don’t need one that floats.
I have a 20ft pontoon.
Use to own a SeaRay Sundancer 245 and a 17′ Canoe. As my MD progressed, I sadly had to part with both. The SeaRay was replaced with a 28′ TT and then in 09 we bought our current 34′ DP Motor Home. I wish we could have kept the SeaRay, I gave the Canoe to our Son so at least it is still in the family, my dad bought it in 64 for us kids and we used it for many years and enjoyed using it on the AuSable and Jordan Rivers and the Sylvania Recreation Area.
We were at a garage sale earlier this year and found two 10′ kayaks for $100. Hard to pass up a deal like that. Very relaxing out on an area lake.
I have a Porta-Bote. So you could say I have a canoe or a kayak, but I put a 6hp motor on it. It’s wonderful for exploring the mangroves, the sounds, the rivers, and small lakes. Just fold it up and throw it on top of the toad.
we boated for 25 years and sold our 50′ motor yacht after the Corps of Engineers stopped dredging the ICW…..our rationale was there is a ton of places to visit inside this country versus coastal traveling.
We have a 24′ Tri-toon plus kayaks and stand up paddleboards. We like camping near the water and all the fun that comes with it.
We had ski boats for years and fought the ‘hole in water’ issue constantly. We switched to Jet Skis and had twice the fun at a fraction of the cost. Unfortunately, the kids grew up and Jet Ski times were few and far apart. Nothing but memories now. Great memories, however.
Have had several boats over the years. But, this year I sold the little fishing boat. Sad, but my kids said it was time to sit on the bank and fish not to be on the lake alone. They all have their own family and too busy to go with. And health issues. They’re right. Plus it’s a lot of work getting it in and out of the water. Spent my share of time on the water so now spending more time just traveling around camping. Life is good.
We live in Colorado, so I am way “over-kayaked”. We currently have an inflatable tandem, a folding single, a hardshell fishing, and a 150# max-weight hardshell kayak for “grandkid visits”. The inflatable and folding kayaks were purchased for carrying in our past and current RVs. Had a small racing sailboat when our sons were still at home, but sold it before we bought our first RV. So, we have had one type of boat or another for 45 years!
Had several boats and jet skis in my life. We lived in the mountains and loved to fish the lake. Then boated in Lake Havasu for years. All gone but not the memories.
A travel trailer is nothing more than a boat with tires.
There wasn’t a correct Vote for us. We have three Kayaks, one old runabout ski boat & a pontoon! We love playing on water.
We have a Rinker 24′ Captiva Cuddy. Best boat I’ve ever owned. Comfortable over nighter and day boat too.
Nobody owns a boat…it’s usually the other way ’round.
No, hubby works on one so he doesn’t want one.
I’ve had a boat of some kind for73 years
my current one is a 20 ft pontoon ( also the last one) too much work for an old guy but children still use it and invite wife and I along. Good deal because they buy lunch and gas
Yup, center console fishing boat. We pull it with our f350 outfitted with a Lance truck camper. The best of both worlds!
small fleet of kayaks (5)
