They say a dog is man’s best friend, but we’d argue coffee deserves that title just as much. Without coffee, RVtravel.com probably wouldn’t even exist. (Yep, Chuck drinks a lot of coffee….)
It’s the fuel that powers so many of us through early mornings, long days, and late-night campsite reservation sessions for the next big RV trip.
So, how many cups of coffee do you drink in a day? Is it just one to kickstart your morning? Or are you the type who needs a steady drip of two, three, or even more to keep going? Or are you someone who somehow makes it through life without coffee? (We promise we’re not judging.)
For many of us, coffee is a ritual. From that first cup brewed fresh at the campsite to grabbing a to-go cup from a roadside diner, it’s woven into our lifestyle. And while some folks might opt for tea or soda for their caffeine, today we’re asking about that magical, mood-lifting cup of joe.
Once you’ve cast your vote, let us know how many cups fuel your day and how you prefer your coffee. Do you take it black, or are you all about the cream and sugar? Do you have a favorite brew—maybe a locally roasted blend from your travels or a classic diner coffee that brings back memories of the open road? And do you use a fancy French press or is a simple drip coffee maker your go-to on the road?
As always, thanks for voting!

I drink one cup a day. But my cup at home holds four of what our Mister Coffee shows as a “cup” on its carafe. The K-cup coffee maker in the RV makes a smaller cup of coffee than we drink at home.
What is a cup? I have 2 mugs of black coffee in the morning. But my mug holds much more than the 8 ounces of liquid that makes a “real measuring cup.”
Our coffee cups are the 16-ounce Mason jars with handles. These, obviously, are double the ordinary 8-ounce cups, so we usually have two, maybe three, of them in the morning. However, when I was in the military (I retired 30+ years ago) I had a walk-around coffee I.V. plumbed directly into my veins (just kidding).
The problem with measuring the amount of coffee we drink is that there is no standard size. Most coffee makers define a cup as 5 or 6 oz. That is not a normal 8 oz cup size. Coffee mugs average between 8 and 12 oz, depending on the design.
Regardless of the size, my hubby will say I drink too much coffee. I disagree. There is no such thing as too much if the coffee is good.
No such thing as too much – provided I cut off the caffeine by noon. Late day caffeine doesn’t stop me from falling asleep at bedtime, but I will be wide awake in the middle of the night. Has gotten worse as I age. 🙁
None, it is unfit for human consumption. Wife has one or two.
I drink one cup of hot water each morning except on Sunday when I have two cups of coffee.
Only one cup when I wake up…
twice a day!
Two, but my ‘cup’ holds 20 oz. 🙂
Coffee makes me sick. Never drank!!
NONE!
Never like the taste of coffee!
My wife likes the smell of brewing coffee but not the taste so I get a full carafe every morning. Some days I’ll drink it dry and others, just a cup. It just depends what I have going on.
Nothing beats the smell of fresh brew on a crisp fall day blended with the aroma of pine, poplar and aspen next to a babbling trout filled creek…
I never drank coffee until I went in the Navy at age 18. I drink about two pints of coffee in the morning. Come about 10:00 am that’s it for me for the day. I use a little sugar and half & half to cut the bitterness. I have used a drip coffee maker for as long as I can remember. I like whole bean ground up fresh in my burr grinder. I try to buy Columbian coffee. I prefer it the most.
A restaurant cup or you poured cup
Big difference
with a restaurant cup you get 4/6 ounces
my yeti I think is 16.
I drink an average of 2-1/2 standard 8 oz cups per day. One in the morning, another around noon or so and a half after supper with a cookie.
One, but it is a 20 oz quad latte. I’m good for the day…
I never learned to like or drink coffee. Rather, my “vice” is a soft drink.
Research shows that the more black coffee you drink, the better your health. Really.
No coffee, but both DH and I drink black tea (preferably Earl Grey) brewed from loose tea in a Mr. Coffee style maker. 2-4 cups a day.
Tea drinker, not coffee.
One cup,but it’s a 16 oz mug!
Nary a drop of coffee…ever.
Coffee is an all day event. While stationed in Europe with my brother we would drink two 30 cup urns a good chance a 12 cup mr coffee pot by days end. Leave work an I’d have another pot. I’ve drank coffee like this for years. My grandfather drank tea daily by the pots full for years. I haven’t had an issue and still like 10pm last call cup.
One LARGE cup each morning. I used to drink it all day, but as I got older I had to restrict it to mornings & unusual situations, like really long drives into to overnight hours.
None, I usually have 2-3 cups of tea & then in the winter I switch to decaf tea in the afternoon, in the summer iced tea. Coffee smells so much better than it tastes!
