Have you, a relative or close friend lost their job in the last two months?

About 26 million Americans have lost their jobs in the last two months due to the coronavirus pandemic. Canadians lost more than a million jobs in March alone.

What about you? Have you lost your job, or has a relative or close friend lost theirs?

It’s a tough time for everyone. We hope you are doing okay and your friends and relatives as well.

So here’s the poll. Remember, it may take a few moments to load. So stand by.

Tell us: What is your dream RV trip?
Most of us are sitting at home now or self-quarantined in our RV. We think that means there’s a whole lot of daydreaming going on about where to go when things return to normal, when it’s okay to get back on the road like in the good ol’ days (of a few months ago). So we have a question for you: What RV trip is at the top of your bucket list? To respond, use the form here, or email editor@rvtravel.com with the words Dream RV Trip on the subject line.

My sister lost hers when the grocery chain closed. This was not a result of the COVID19 situation as it was planned months in advance. She was quickly find another position at more pay and better benefits, all while still working for the now debunked store.

First cousin twice removed was furloughed from Top Golf. Most of my friends and relatives are retired, own their own businesses (some of which have closed) or telecommuted anyway.

No jobs lost in our group of close family and friends. All were able to work remotely. In fact 50% of the companies they worked for had a their best ever revenue. 2 companies so far have found their employees were more productive and the costs to run the business was much lower when everyone was working remotely that they have decided to go strictly to work from home with a much smaller office space needed for client meetings. It is our hope that in the future, more and more employers and schools go remote.

My husband is a 1099 contractor and he’s been furloughed now going on 4 weeks. I’m a freelancer and pay decrease is 95%. Neither of us have qualified for CARES PUA to this point. It’s a scary time. Not sure if I’m more afraid of the virus or losing everything.

We’re retiring at the end of August. We decided that wife should retire now. Her job was too close to multiple covid patients. Hopefully she is virus-free. Her take-home pay between now and August will not make or break our retirement.

We own a small retail business, travelling all over the country to events selling our products. We have gone through all types of weather and had indoor and outdoor events scheduled. We never would have imagined all events all over the country would be canceled indefinitely!
We are truly struggling to figure out what to do next, but are able to stay in place in our RV at our son’s property.

My mother in law lost her job. My middle daughter lost her job. My sister just lost her job. My sister was furlough until the end of July.
The lumber company where I work at has a company buying our soft maple. If this company was not buying our soft maple I think I would be laid off.

My daughter made a good living as a new real estate agent. That income has gone to zero. Technically she didn’t “lose” her job, but as an independent contractor/small business there are no unemployment benefits. Tough situation. for all small business owners.

She needs to contact her state unemployment office. Part of the Feds stimulus package was setting up for contractors to be able to collect unemployment.
