Really? This fifth wheel setup is bizarre and dangerous

Don’t try this! Talk about a weird, wacky and dangerous setup! Reader Michael Logan came across these photos of an SUV towing a fifth wheel trailer eight years ago. He’s not sure of their origin.

We can’t imagine anyone actually driving with this setup, but someone definitely went to a lot of trouble to install the fifth wheel hitch in the back of the car.

I think DUANE is referring to the person with this outfit, not Bob p. 😀 —Diane at RVtravel.com

The sales associate told me my truck would tow it and their service department would set it up.

As a joke, I want to go to our local RV dealer in an older, tiny Ford Festiva and tell them I’m interested in a mid-sized 5th wheel camper. When asked what my tow vehicle is, point to the Festiva.

Homeless, not an RVer you normally see.

Oh I know of some unintelligent people way upon the far northeast coast that have done this. Not friends but people. A Ford Pinto was used on 28′ of 5th wheel. Concrete block strapped to front end as counter balance. I wish I had taken a picture. I was hoping there wasn’t much traffic in the boondocks of Maine. Hunting ruling I was ruling on.
