By Dustin Simpson
Want to protect your RV from harsh elements and keep it looking new? In this article and video, we’ll show you how 303 Aerospace Protectant can be a game-changer in maintaining the vinyl, rubber, and plastic surfaces of your RV. Learn how this product can help you prevent fading, cracking, and stains while extending the lifespan of your RV’s exterior and interior.

What is 303 Aerospace Protectant?

303 Aerospace Protectant is a protective spray designed to protect and preserve vinyl, rubber, and plastic surfaces in your RV. It’s widely known for its ability to protect against the sun’s harmful UV rays, which can cause these materials to fade and crack over time.

  • UV protection: Blocks up to 98% of UV rays, preventing the sun from breaking down surfaces.
  • Stain prevention: Helps repel stains from dirt, grease, and other substances that can mar the look of your RV.
  • Surface restoration: Restores the original luster and shine of vinyl, rubber, and plastic, keeping your RV looking new.

Why use 303 Aerospace Protectant?

Prevents fading and cracking

The UV inhibitors in 303 Aerospace Protectant form a protective barrier on your RV’s surfaces, preventing them from being damaged by the sun’s rays. This is crucial for maintaining the vibrant look of your RV, especially if you’re constantly on the road or in sunny climates.

Protects against the elements

Whether it’s rain, dirt, or even snow, this protector forms a protective layer that keeps moisture and contaminants from soaking into and damaging surfaces. It’s perfect for keeping your RV looking fresh no matter where you travel.

Long-lasting finish

Once applied, the 303 Aerospace Protectant creates a non-greasy finish that lasts for several months, making it a low-maintenance solution for RV care. It won’t attract dirt or dust like some other products on the market, keeping your surfaces cleaner for longer.

Versatility

This product is safe to use on vinyl, rubber, and plastic surfaces, making it ideal for everything from your RV’s awning, window seals, and tire trim to interior vinyl upholstery and dashboards.

How to apply 303 Aerospace Protectant

Clean the surface first

Before applying the protector, ensure that the surface is clean and dry. Use a gentle cleaner that is safe for vinyl, rubber, and plastic to remove dirt, grime, or old protective coatings.

Spray the product

Shake the bottle well before use. Lightly spray the 303 Aerospace Protectant directly onto the surface you want to treat. Be sure to cover the entire area evenly.

Wipe and spread evenly

Using a clean, soft cloth, wipe the product onto the surface in a circular motion. Make sure the surface is evenly coated for full protection.

Let it dry

Allow the product to dry for about 10–15 minutes before using the area. For areas that will experience heavy exposure to the elements, you can apply a second coat for added protection.

Where to use 303 Aerospace Protectant on your RV

Exterior vinyl and rubber

Protect your roof seals, window seals, and door seals from cracking and UV damage. This can also be applied to your RV tires to prevent fading and cracking.

Awning and canvas

303 Aerospace Protectant is perfect for extending the life of your awning fabric, keeping it clean and resistant to stains, UV damage, and mildew.

Plastic trim and bumpers

Apply it to your RV’s plastic trim, bumpers, and fender flares to preserve their color and prevent deterioration from the sun.

Interior vinyl

Protect your dashboards, upholstery, and other vinyl or plastic interior surfaces from sun damage, stains, and deterioration.

Additional RV maintenance tips

Regular cleaning

Keep your RV’s surfaces clean and free from dirt and grime to prolong the life of both the exterior and interior. Regular cleaning can help the 303 Aerospace Protectant work more effectively.

Protect your RV in storage

When your RV is not in use, consider covering the roof and tires with a protective cover to further prevent damage from the sun and environmental elements.

Check seals and caulking

Ensure that all seals and caulking around doors, windows, and the roof are intact and not cracked or worn. If needed, reseal these areas to prevent water leaks and damage.

Conclusion

303 Aerospace Protectant is a must-have product for anyone serious about maintaining their RV’s appearance and longevity. By applying this protective spray, you’ll prevent fading, cracking, and staining on your RV’s vinyl, rubber, and plastic surfaces, keeping it looking like new for years to come. Whether you’re on the road full-time or just enjoying weekend getaways, this simple maintenance step can make all the difference in your RV’s upkeep.

I use it, but it’s expensive and a bottle do’t go far.

It actually goes just as far as any other spray on product, including spray waxes, ceramic coatings and other types of sealers. It doesn’t take much.
You can also buy it in gallon jugs.

There is no mention whether or not to use 303 on painted surfaces such as full body paint. Should that be avoided?

Hi, Gary. I’ve been looking at 303’s website and found this about the 303 Aerospace Protectant: “Safe and effective for vinyl, gel-coat, fiberglass, carbon fiber, synthetic/natural rubber, plastic and finished leather.” I couldn’t find anything specific about using 303 on painted surfaces. However, I did find this statement: “Not recommended for: clear plastics, unfinished leather (e.g., suede), canvas, flooring, gauge panels, or headlights.” So, I’m assuming it’s OK to use it on painted surfaces. Have a great day. 😀 –Diane at RVtravel.com
