RV review: 2025 Forest River Impression 360MYR – Well, that’s different

Today’s RV review is of the 2025 Forest River 360MYR fifth wheel. As I did, you may have a bunch of questions about this rig. Heck, you might even wonder who in the wide, wide world of sports is Impression. Isn’t that a Grand Design name?

Do know that I’m working off a prototype model here. I have the privilege of working with Josh Winters from Bish’s RV on some of these advanced looks at RVs and he got to see this prototype long before I did. In the time between when he recorded the video and I got to learn more about this rig, it has been more settled. But Josh had looked at prototype number one on this.

Also, congratulations to Josh on having 300,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel. Not to mention 7,560 videos and more than 131.6M views. Wow!

Who is Forest River Impression

Impression is the mid-profile fifth wheel arm of the people who bring you Salem and Wildwood. The idea with these is to provide a value-oriented offering that also has some upscale touches. That’s essentially what Salem and Wildwood are doing, as well.

For whatever reason, when I see the name “Impression” I think of Grand Design. But they actually don’t have an Impression. They have Imagines, Reflections, and other names, but not Impression.

Now, you might also ask yourself about the huge Forest River branding on this thing. That’s a new directive from Forest River’s marketing folks—and I think it’s dumb.

Essentially, the new Forest River products, all of them, are going to have very visible Forest River branding splashed across them. That would be like buying a Chevy truck and having General Motors in huge letters splashed across it.

Quite honestly, I don’t think Forest River has the cachet for this to be a good decision. Plus, it minimizes the differences in Forest River’s individual brands. I can’t imagine where this idea came from, but it needs to go away. Tomorrow.

And know that I worked at Apple in marketing and did the marketing for two tourism districts. Plus, I also used to own a company that did marketing for small businesses. So, it’s not like this is something I don’t understand. Unlike whoever’s idea this was.

From the road up with the Forest River Impression 360MYR

Since this is a prototype, know that some of these details may change. But the first thing to know is that the intention is to run these on Maxxis tires. This is not a brand I’m familiar with, so I’d appreciate input from the wisdom of the audience on this. Friends of mine really like them.

This has an enclosed underbelly and the furnace has ducting into the space. Also, there are 12-volt tank heating pads. So, I would imagine it does well in shoulder-season camping.

Impression has also upgraded to higher-quality fiberglass exteriors and uses vacuum bonding on many of the wall panels, as well—which is a plus.

Unique features on the Forest River Impression 360MYR

To say that this floor plan is unusual would be an understatement. But I’m going to say that the most innovative and unusual floor plans and features are coming out of this group at Forest River—so it’s not that surprising.

Perhaps the most striking feature in the interior of this trailer is a round table smack dab in the middle of the main living space. Above this table is a really fancy lighting fixture with three rings, and around the table are chairs.

So, no booth dinette. Instead, sort of a bistro table.

The kitchen spans the width of the back of the trailer and incorporates one of those new multi-purpose sinks that has numerous inserts and a glass washer. I like these things.

There is a good amount of cabinet and drawer space, and there’s also a pull-out pantry here.

Something you might not have expected is an included small dishwasher. You’re welcome.

More living space ideas

The main living space is made larger by opposing full-size slide rooms.

On the camp side, there is a desk in the corner. I mean a real, proper desk. If you don’t need the knee room here, that desk has a drop-down shelf in it so you could use the space differently if that suits you. But as someone who has altered several RVs just so I can use them to write these reviews in, I applaud workspaces.

The other seating in here are two recliners which face an enormous TV. Over on the bulkhead is a jackknife sofa, as well. Impression also includes two Bluetooth speakers, which, to me, is the absolute best way to do sound.

Why? You can upgrade them later but there are no holes cut in the exterior of the rig for terrible speakers. You can take these Bluetooth speakers with you or just provide sound in the main living space. If I never ever, not ever, see speakers installed into an RV again that would be almost as awesome as eliminating the 17” RV oven. Which this has. Bummer.

There’s a big secret behind that TVa huge pantry. So, while your first impression might be that there’s not a lot of storage space here, there actually is.

Two bathrooms in the Forest River Impression 360MYR

Even though this is a couple’s camper at heart, it also has two bathrooms.

The one downstairs has the included washer and dryer and is technically a half-bath. You know, a sink and a toilet. But another thing in here is the furnace intake right next to the toilet. What could go wrong with that?

You could spread the smell of a successful taco night dinner party throughout the rig and share with friends and family.

The upstairs bathroom is quite big and incorporates a very large shower and a long counter with two sinks. There’s also a very large mirror. That might be great if you don’t look like me and would have to look at such an accurate depiction of yourself.

Bedroom in the Forest River Impression 360MYR

Like many of the company’s other offerings, this includes what they call a Versa Tilt bed system. Basically it’s a power mechanism that lifts the head of the bed. I like this. The bed itself is a 72” X 80” mattress, so it’s a good size.

Beyond the bedroom and bathroom is a huge closet that takes up the nose of this trailer. The closet is large enough that it has a makeup table, although the final word is still out on this. It may be enlarged enough to be a second desk.

Conclusions about the Forest River Impression 360MYR

I like seeing unique ideas and new thinking in the RV space. This absolutely represents that. The team at this branch of Forest River is knocking it out of the park in a lot of ways.

I know that this unusual floor plan isn’t going to work for everybody, and I would do a few things differently, but not much. I like the fact that there’s no booth dinette in here. Plus, I love the desk and two Bluetooth speakers.

Of course, with all the bonus features like the dishwasher and washer-dryer, the fact that this has a 17” RV oven is a big bummer to me. Give me no oven and the chance to upgrade to a better one, or anything but the 17” worthless RV oven. This is the worst choice in a rig that is otherwise so well thought out.

One more thing. This also has three dump connections. Wow. One of those is just for the washer-dryer, so if you’re not using those you can ignore that one. Considering that there’s a bathroom way up in the front and a kitchen way out in the back, I can live with two connections—but three is a lot.

I hope the tone of this piece reflects that I really like this rig and the direction Impression is going with build materials and processes, as well as really unusual but very functional designs.

My thanks to Josh from Bish’s RV for the video and photos in this article.

No mention of suspension, but being a Salem-Wildwood product, I’m guessing Model T-vintage leaf springs. That, combined with three dump valves, dishwasher, and washer-dryer, means this trailer is designed to be hauled to a seasonal FHU RV park and moved a maximum of twice a year.

That FR division must still have surplus prison-gray paint, because they seem to splash it on every product they make, no matter whether it’s 16′ or 42′ long. Hope they run out of it soon, so their interiors won’t be so depressing!

Maybe that bathroom furnace intake is meant to supplement the propane in heating the RV? No, it’s going to a heat exchange box, so it’s a closed system. Hope it has a 12″ vent fan!

Great review, enjoyed the writing! “ You could spread the smell of a successful taco night dinner party throughout the rig and share with friends and family. ” 😂

There was no mention of the small prep space in the kitchen.

Small freshwater tank compared to size of TT with washer and dishwasher.

Thank you, Tony! 🙂 When you next speak to RV manufacturer executives or, better yet, designers, please ask why they make the gray water tank so much larger than the fresh water tank. This seems to be increasingly typical rather than atypical and, perhaps due to my relative few years RVing, it seems backward. Thanks again, have a great weekend, safe travels, and safe stays! 🙂
