Today’s thought
“Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don’t wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.” ―
Need an excuse to celebrate? Today is National Kazoo Day!
On this day in history: 1754 – Sir Horace Walpole coins the word “serendipity” in a letter to a friend.

Tricks to finding quiet RV parks
Who wouldn’t want a little peace and quiet? From morning to night, daily noise hammers at our senses. Work, traffic, technology, conversation, and more assail our ears in a never-ending cacophony. Wouldn’t a nice, quiet getaway be welcome? Yes! But how can you find a quiet RV park?
Boondockers know that BLM land and other off-grid opportunities offer secluded and quiet spots. The problem? Not every RVer wants to boondock. So what’s a non-boondocker’s alternative? Continue reading.

2026 Oliver Legacy Elite II Platinum—RV interior or boat cabin? Nice!
A fiberglass trailer can feel somewhat basic inside, but the 2026 Oliver Legacy Elite II Platinum goes a different direction. The smooth fiberglass finish, solid drawers, and tidy layout make it feel closer to a boat cabin than a typical RV. This trailer packs a lot into a compact footprint. Check it out.
Keep your truck bed (and RV gear) tidy with the best truck net
This elastic cargo net makes hauling gear simple—no knots, no tangled straps, no wrestling with bungees. Clip it in, toss your stuff underneath, and hit the road. It keeps camp gear, pet gear, chairs, sporting, hunting, or fishing equipment, and all other lightweight loads secure in truck beds, SUVs, and tow vehicles, making setup and breakdown faster for RVers and road trippers. Fidelis Dale Wasinger and the amazing Great Dale House Car
You probably haven’t heard of Fidelis Dale Wasinger. Chances are you’ve never seen The Great Dale House Car either. But if you love RVing, you need to know Wasinger’s story. Read it here and see his creation(s).
THE MORE YOU KNOW… There’s a 13-mile stretch of State Highway 130 near Austin, Texas, where you can legally drive 85 mph—the fastest posted speed limit in the U.S.
Save money! Know what’s wrong before the repair shop does
This simple OBD2 scanner lets RVers and tow-vehicle owners read engine codes in seconds—no shop visit, no guessing, no Google rabbit holes. Plug it in, see what’s triggering the warning light in your vehicle (like a check engine light, for example), and understand what’s actually going on before you’re stranded at a campground or service center. It’s an easy, glove-box tool for staying ahead of breakdowns, saving money, and traveling with a lot more confidence. Learn more or order.
Ask Dave
When lubricating an RV slide out, should the gear rack be lubed?
Good question! Dave tells you here.
Reader poll
After settling into a campground/RV park, how often do you introduce yourself to at least one neighbor?
WISE SAYING: “A man who reads on the toilet is a man who finishes a chapter, not his business.”
Quick tip
Wake up your fridge–with coffee!
Coffee keeps the fridge fresh and free of mold, etc. Put some fresh coffee grounds—not used—in cheesecloth or perhaps a man’s handkerchief, tie it up, and hang it in the fridge. Works like a charm in any fridge! —Thanks to Carol L.

Trivia
Our sun is just an average star. It looks bigger and brighter than the other stars only because it is closer. Scientists estimate there are 100 billion stars in Earth’s galaxy. To get to the next nearest star, you would have to travel through trillions of miles of space.

“Going Camping….” Looks like they’re in for some fun!
TX-130 is a toll road. If you think Interstate highways are insane, go ahead and pay the money for TX-130. Just keep in mind that many Texans view speed limits as the lower limit, not the upper limit. For most RVers, TX-130 has a (toll-free) frontage highway with not all that many stops.
Buffy is a cutie, looks like a campsite monitor extraordinaire. And we could always need a few more good monitors. Keep on camping
Trivia:
Proxima Centauri is the closest star to the Sun, approximately 25 trillion miles away! Now that is a long RV trip!
“Going camping” – This is very accurate to the Mexican families we saw on the Baja. Great people, but you’d think they bring everything they own for a weekend. Maybe they do?!
“Going camping,” Or, running away from home?
Rent was due.
85 mph is just a suggestion, right
between phoenix and casa grande it’s not uncommon to be driving 90+ and I don’t like it
Great pic of Buffy on the hunt!
thanks for sharing
Buffy reminds me of our Brittany, Merlyn. He used to stand and stare at the ground with his front paw in the air.. Moles and chipmunks scoot down the holes and he watched for them to come back out.
Sometimes he would come back on the porch and continue to watch for them.
BTW, every so often he would catch one.
I sure miss this and him.
