Why RVers need a maintenance calendar, not just a checklist or log book
By Emily Woodbury
I recently saw a post on an RVing Facebook group (which, unfortunately, I can’t find again) about the importance of not just RV maintenance checklists, but maintenance calendars. This was a good point, I thought. Most RVers, and I know many of you, keep track of all your RV’s maintenance in a log book so you can see when your last oil change was, when you last re-sealed your roof, when you last checked your RV’s tire pressures… all that stuff.
But what if you did things a little backward… or forward? What if, instead of looking back at when you last completed something, you could easily look forward and see when it needed to be done again? Continue reading.

The best foldable, electric cart for RVers… that you can ride!
A folding cart that can haul gear and carry a rider gets attention fast. During a day at Stockton Park in Jacksonville, FL, the DYU CampX foldable electric wagon kept stopping people in their tracks because it tackled a familiar problem: heavy loads and too many back-and-forth trips. The team from Glamping With The Cooper’s tested it the way most people would, with park gear, hills, family rides, and a long afternoon outside. By the end, the wagon felt closer to a small utility cart than a standard folding wagon. This is great!

Illuminating the fascinating history of the traffic light
By Gail Marsh
As RVers, we rely on them. They are one of the best ways to prevent traffic accidents and to keep motorists moving smoothly on the roadways today. But did you ever wonder how it happened? How was the traffic light invented in the first place? I wondered about that, too. Here’s what I discovered.

Prevent crumbs or trash from falling through the seat cracks!
This is one brilliant product! The Drop Stop, the car seat gap filler, prevents anything from falling in front of, in between or behind your car or RV’s seats. It simply attaches to the seat belt catch and sits comfortably between your seat and the middle console. I think all of us here at RVtravel.com are going to go buy this 2-pack right now. How could we not?! Learn more or order.
Quick tip
Using the roof air while driving serves two purposes
Most big motorhome owners realize that using the dashboard air often doesn’t cut it to keep cool while driving. Firing up the generator and using the roof air keeps the rig cool easily—with an added benefit: Since generators need to be “exercised” regularly, running the roof air while underway is a great way to get in that generator maintenance time.

Trivia
You’ve probably heard the term “bug” when a computer program crashes—but did you know the very first “computer bug” was actually a real insect? In 1947, a moth got trapped in the circuits of an early computer. Computer scientist Grace Hopper discovered it, removed it, and jokingly referred to the process as “debugging.” The term stuck, and we’ve been using it ever since.

“We bought the Yorki (Princess) for our granddaughter while in TX. Ellie was a rescue, and Bridget was a rescue from a family that was going to kill her because no one wanted a 12-week-old pup. At 5, Bridget went blind, and Ellie made her last trip in 2021. Here, they were fighting over who was going to drive.” —Joan Littleton

You don’t buy a dog you adopt a dog. Dogs are family not something to be enslaved to. Although they enslave you especially if you have a Chihuahua. Just an FYI.
You don’t adopt a dog, he adopts you.
Think about it, when you walk out of the shelter the dog is leading you!
Another benefit to using the generator to run the rooftop A/C is that you can shut off the dash air to take some of the load off the engine when pulling a steep grade.
Thank you for the adorable picture, Joan. Very sorry that you lost Ellie. I hope that you and Bridget have many wonderful trips together in the coming years. Yes, the mystery product scored a direct hit. I saved it to send to a friend and high school classmate when he turns 70. DW may even buy one for me or let me buy one for myself, when I hit the “magic” number. Thank you, Emily and Diane. Have a great day and safe travels!
Some versions of the bug story claim that Grace correctly knew not only where they would find the moth, but what color it would be.
A note on the trivia for today. Grace Hopper was an Rear Admiral in the US Navy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grace_Hopper)
Thank you for the link, Ken. What a smart, accomplished, determined and feisty woman she was! Have a great day. 😀 –Diane at RVtravel.com
