Tents for Troops (T4T) is a nonprofit organization that provides free nights of camping at RV parks across the country to active duty military members and their families. It is now in the process of delivering more RVs to RV parks and campgrounds that have agreed to participate in its program.
T4T is currently sending out ten new 30-foot RVs stocked with items a family might need to enjoy a few days of camping. Ted Davis at Airstream Adventures Northwest, who has been a contributor to T4T for over three years, has provided funding to outfit three of the RVs with what is called a “Full Hook-Up” package.
T4T still needs funding to outfit seven more RVs. A $350 donation can stock an RV with all the basics including dishes, pots and pans, bake ware, mixing bowls, silverware, toaster, camp-style coffee percolator with mugs, utensils, corkscrew, mop, broom, cleaning supplies, and RV water and sewer hoses.
For those who make a “Full Hook-Up” donation for an additional $350, Tents for Troops adds three adult and three kid’s size camp chairs, cooler, electric pancake griddle, Mickey Mouse waffle iron, board games, card games and some family DVDs.
Donations of any size and in-kind donations are always needed and welcome. Tents for Troops also has loaner RVs available at no cost for RV parks and campgrounds in Kentucky, Tennessee and W. Virginia.
