In the video below, we join Mike Drudge from Vogt RV World in Fort Worth, Texas, for a tour of Jayco’s newest Class C motorhome, the Jayco Granite Ridge 22T. This small RV, filled with useful and innovative features, is not your typical Class C.
You can spot one of the big differences from the outside, where you’ll find access to a HUGE exterior storage bay. I am talking big enough to hold bikes, kayaks, cooler chests, or other large toys. There’s even a system for securing larger items. It’s not quite a “garage” in the traditional RV sense of the word, but it does provide a heck of a lot of toy storage. I love that you can access this area from the sides or the back and that awnings cover two of the three access points.
The rig in the video is equipped with the optional outdoor kitchen, which is a nice option, especially considering the small size of this motorhome. It includes a Dometic 12-volt refrigerator/freezer (that can come out and go with you should you go off exploring in a car or boat), a 2-burner stove, and a sink. When ready to travel, the entire outdoor kitchen just slides back into the rig.
I was blown away by how roomy and airy the interior of this small motorhome is. I also love its versatility. For instance, the bedroom comes with two twin beds, but they easily convert into one larger bed. There’s a surprising amount of interior storage, as well.
The kitchen features an induction cooktop, a convection microwave oven, a respectable-sized refrigerator and freezer, and a single farm-style sink. This setup gives you a lot of kitchen counter space when the stove is not in use.
The small dinette features a swivel table that can move and slide to provide easy access. In addition, the seats in the cab spin around and can be used for dining or living area seating.
A small but functional wet bath rounds out the space.
While technically a Class C, the industry has started calling rigs like this with no bed over the cab Class B+. Regardless of what you call it, Jayco still utilizes this space with storage cubbies and a perfect place to mount the TV.

More nice features of the Jayco Granite Ridge 22T
- Hellwig helper springs and rear stabilizer bar
- 2-inch thick walls
- Enclosed holding tanks
- 60 cubic feet of exterior storage
- Awnings on both the side and back of the coach
- Outdoor shower
- Water filter system
- Onan 2800 generator
- Optional Starlink internet
- JBL Flip 5 sound bar that you can remove and take with you outside
What’s not to like?
A larger propane bottle would have been nice. But on the plus side, it is the size you can swap out at almost any convenience store.
While there is a lot of storage on board, I did not see a hanging wardrobe closet. This would be a deal breaker for me—I need at least a little bit of hanging storage.

An Ekko clone with some substantial upgrades to the suspension and tires. I really like the AquaHot gas-fired heat and hot water. If you do not opt for the outdoor kitchen, this needs no propane at all. I also like the better microwave. I would miss the blind spot monitoring and the Froli under-mattress support. The wet bath is functional but the swing wall in the Ekko wet bath makes it more attractive. All the videos thus far, as well as the Jayco website, have been very vague on the electrical system details. Where is the house battery located? Is there adjacent room for one or more additional batteries? What sort of engine charging is available? There is no mention of a 2nd alternator.
Thank you, Cheri! Safe travels! 🙂
It’s not a Class C, Ford Transit is a van – ClassB
nope, class c technically. class b uses existing an body.
