Yay! Some information I can use. I didn’t know of the Coronado Flower Show, It’s a bit far for me (400 miles?) but might just take my micro camper and head that way – thanks!
I know it’s not in the west, however, the Pella, Iowa Tulip Festival is a beautiful event. It’s the first weekend in May and it’s awesome. Been there 3 times. There’s a parade all 3 days with local residents dressed in Dutch clothing and wearing wooden shoes. A working Dutch windmill is located downtown. Visit the Dutch Village next to the windmill and see local craftsmen making all sorts of treasures. Contact the Pella Iowa Convention and Visitors’ Bureau for a full schedule of events. Ample RV parking nearby in the USACOE campgrounds at Red Rock Lake. I prefer the Roberts’ Creek park campgrounds (2). Reservations available online.
Thanks, John. Yes, the Tulip Festival in Pella, Iowa, is mentioned in our upcoming post on “Spring flower festivals in the Eastern U.S.” Looks like fun! Have a great day! 😀 –Diane at RVtravel.com
FYI: The poppy picture with the segment on the California poppy festival is not of California poppies.
Thank you, Gail, for the information! Perhaps one day … . Have a great day and safe travels!
