Dollar store RV organizing tips and hacks for your RV

By Cheri Sicard
In the video below, the team from No Ordinary Path shares some of their favorite dollar store RV organizing tips and hacks.

If you use your imagination, I know there are even more dollar store RV organizing items to be had, but this group will get you started thinking of dollar stores in new ways.

When the video starts, the rig is empty as our hosts thought they were going to sell it, then changed their minds. In other words, when packing, empty and clean is an excellent time to organize and make sure everything has a place.

The tips are conservative. The family didn’t want to go hog wild with organizing, as they shot the video right before Christmas, when funds are always tight, and they don’t intend to move back into the rig full-time. Therefore, they set a budget of about $50 for organizing supplies. When all was said and done, she went over and spent $64, but that bought a whole lot of organization.

The dollar store buys can be arranged into categories:

#1 Lighting: Our host loves her work desk but not the fact that it lacks a light. Stick up pop lights to the rescue. She also picked up a small gooseneck USB light for dark corners.

#2 Drawers: An adjustable container that fit in one of the RV drawers tamed the tangle of remotes that used to live there.

#3 Refrigerator: A plastic can organizer fit perfectly in the fridge. According to the video, dollar store storage items tend be a little smaller than regular, which is perfect for RVers.

#4 Kitchen: An unusual paper towel hook makes it easy to hang and move a roll of paper towels wherever you need it at that moment. Plastic book bins organized kitchen cabinets well, especially for plastic and foil rolls and food storage bags.

#5 Bathroom: A small 3-part plastic container neatly holds toothbrushes and toothpaste. A plastic cereal box that’s thin enough to sit next to the toilet makes a terrific RV bathroom trashcan. Plastic pencil holders and long narrow bins organize all kinds of small items in the medicine cabinet.

#6 Nightstand: Plastic pegboard creates small shelves next to the bed.

#7 Coat hangers: Over-the-door coat hangers keep warm clothing accessible.

Along the way, the video shares a few more dollar store RV organizing tips and hacks. Have you ever found great RV organizing items at the dollar store? Share your experiences in the comments below.

Thank you for noting and summarizing the video, Cheri! We incorporated a few of these and similar organizational objects into our RV. DW is always on the lookout for additional ways to organize or better organize aspects of our RV. Have a great day and safe travvels!
