You won’t believe this tiny Geo Tracker micro truck camper!

By Cheri Sicard
In the video below, Larry of Work Less Enjoy Life More gives us a tour of his unique tiny Geo Tracker camper. Larry built this camper himself as an inexpensive way to get away from it all!

Fuel efficient, the 1992 Geo Tracker only has a 4-cylinder engine, but that’s enough to haul this tiny camper. It’s 4WD and sports some offroad accessories, so it can go to a lot of places normal campers can’t.

Larry fashioned his DIY Geo Tracker camper out of 2X2 lumber and 3/8-inch plywood.  Larry acknowledges wood may have not been the best choice, but it is well coated. He added rubber coating to the roof, along with a Maxxair fan.

He designed the camper with a cabover area for aesthetics and for extra storage. It is, of course, too small to sleep in.

At the time of the video, the camper was not completely finished. This is actually a smart idea. Larry wanted to use it and camp in it a few times before ultimately deciding where he needed to permanently put things. He was, however, sure he wanted the kitchen outside.  Be sure to check out the out-of-the-box solution he found on Amazon.

Yes, the tiny camper has space for 6’8”-tall Larry to sleep by utilizing the front passenger seat space. This also creates a decent amount of storage area underneath. Larry also carries a portable folding toilet in his camper. A portable power station and solar panels keep everything powered.

A great way to enjoy the outdoors in a simple, cheap, easy to maintain package.

There is huge support for the Tracker and they can be made to be quite capable.

We need a lot more of this style camping on RVTravel.com.

Agree! Why do folks need to carry a “house” around?

Amazingly, I LIKE this ‘build’. Simple, cheap (or should I say “inexpensive”), and it will do the job. Hard-sided tent camping comes to mind. In my single days, I could see making something like this work.

Thank you, Cheri! 🙂 Well, he certainly is ingenious. Not my style, but he did a great job. Interesting video, too! Thanks again, have a great week, safe travels, and safe stays 🙂
