Our favorite RV gearhead, Joshua from RV Gear & Far, produced the video below to show all the great RV gear from IKEA. Unlike most of the other RV gear from IKEA videos, this one does NOT focus on storage solutions. We all already know that IKEA has lots of great storage options.
Joshua and his family travel full time in a 35’ travel trailer, but whether it is an RV, tiny home, or a small apartment, Joshua says the small space IKEA gear recommendations can help as all provide great value and efficient use of space.
Shopping for RV gear from IKEA
Joshua says the first thing to do upon walking into the store is to pick up a free paper tape measure that will help you determine if the items you want to buy will fit in the spaces you want to put them. And, of course, you should first measure your RV. He says this can also help when buying the proper storage boxes and bins IKEA is famous for.
Watch the video to get a look at these great RV accessories from IKEA:
• Folding bed trays: Lightweight and foldable for easy storage, these trays turn bed space into workspace or dining space. Joshua says they also make terrific laptop risers to get your head up and in a more ergonomically correct position when using your computer.
• Portable drawing cases: Small, portable, zippered cases that allow you to store art, school, craft, or office supplies inside, while also providing a solid top workspace.
• Tiny dustpan and brush sets: I have several of these as they are essential for quick pickups of dust and dirt on RV and vehicle floors.
• Cat (or small dog) house: If your feline friend travels with you, IKEA’s cat house, which also fits small dogs, provides a protected place for them to sleep.
• Cat scratching post fabric: Attach to furniture you already have in your RV for a built-in scratching post.
• Cube shelves: Customizable to fit almost any space, you can even get these with door and drawer options.
• Stackable stools: Lightweight and stackable, these handy stools provide lots of extra seating without taking up much RV real estate.
• Pegboard organizers: The innovative modular design lets you move pegs around to hold what you need where you need it.
• Corelle-type dishware: IKEA has its own version of this durable dishware at about one-fourth of the price.
• Plastic bag storage: This inexpensive accessory keeps plastic bags easily at hand.
• Smocks for toddlers or kids: Keeps kids neat during mealtimes and beyond.
• Acrylic self-adhesive mirrors: Lightweight, open up the space, and give you more mirrors!
• Pizza stone: A MUST for evenly distributing RV oven heat, even if you never make pizza.
• Quarter-sized baking sheets: The perfect size for most RV ovens.
• Flexible cutting mats: Sure, they are great lightweight cutting boards, but watch the video to see how Joshua uses these to help when it comes time to defrost your RV’s freezer.
• Cork trivets: Lightweight, these protect tables and surfaces throughout the RV.
• Dishwashing gloves: Heavy-duty, reusable, and inexpensive.
• Magnetic knife block: Save counter space while keeping kitchen knives nearby. You can even use these for hanging spice storage.
• Shoe storage bins: These bins tip out of the way for handy shoe storage.
• Light fixtures: Stylish, and all you need to do is swap out for 12-volt fixtures.
• Décor items: Watch the video as Joshua presents a variety of lightweight, stylish, RV decorating accessories.
• Coffee spoons: The perfect size for coffee, tea, treats, or desserts.

We have used the Velcro cat scratching pads for quite a few years. They can also be attached to the fabric corners of furniture using the little screws to attach old-fashioned arm covers.
Going to have to try the flex cutting pad for the the back of the RV freezer!
Thank you, Cheri! 🙂 That is quite a list!?! Thanks again, have a great day, safe travels, and safe travels! 🙂
Read the label on Ikea LED strip lights. They are 24v, not 12v.
