Got power stations? You need the Pecron U20 Universal Cable Kit

Anyone who uses portable power stations long enough runs into the same problem: the cable on hand is almost right, but not quite. I know I have.

In the video at the end of this post, ReeWray Outdoors opens with a real example: trying to use the same little XT60 male connector to hook a battery tester to a battery, and realizing the setup needs the right adapter (alligator clips to an XT60 female). That’s the kind of small snag that can stop a test, a solar setup, or a quick experiment. A kit that covers the common connectors can save a lot of time, especially for people who like to try different gear.

What the Pecron U20 Universal Cable Kit is

Pecron’s U20 Universal Cable Kit is a connector and adapter kit built for power stations, solar panels, and 12V gear. ReeWray Outdoors has been using it for several weeks and says it’s come in handy “so many times” that it’s become the go-to fix for those missing-cable moments. It’s aimed at anyone who has more than one power station, mixes panel types, or just likes testing setups without building custom cables every time.

Storage and layout: easy to find what you need

The kit comes in a compact case with two sides. Each side has a lift-up pouch, with gear stored on both the front and back of each pouch. It’s the kind of layout that makes it quick to spot the right adapter instead of digging through a loose pile of cables.

XT60-focused cables that solve common problems

A lot of the kit revolves around XT60, which shows up everywhere in portable power.

A few standouts mentioned:

  • XT60 male to XT60 female
  • Alligator clamps to an XT60 female (used for battery testing)
  • Multiple XT60 couplers (three are mentioned)
  • A short, heavy-gauge XT60 extension cable

There’s also an XT60 male-to-male coupler that includes a built-in power monitor.

Solar, car, and cross-brand connector options

For solar and general power station mixing, the kit includes the connectors people tend to reach for most:

  • MC4 to XT60 (handy when a panel lead doesn’t match a power station input)
  • XT60 to a 12V car socket
  • 12V car plug to XT60
  • XT90 to XT60 converters in two versions (opposite genders)

It also includes XT60 to aviation-style connectors for older or earlier Pecron systems, with both male and female versions.

Battery and barrel connectors for flexible setups

The U20 kit includes battery ring terminals to XT60, which ReeWray Outdoors uses to connect a battery to a power station to extend runtime in a simple, convenient way. There’s also an Anderson to XT60 adapter.

For barrel styles often seen on power stations and accessories, several options are included:

Cable/Adapter type What was shown
XT60 to DC7909 Included
XT60 to DC8020 Included, noted as common with Jackery units
XT60 to DC5521 Included
XT60 to DC5525 Mentioned as a likely match on one adapter
DC7909 female and DC8020 female Included on another adapter

The Z30 monitor hub: more than volts and amps

One of the most interesting pieces is the Z30 monitor hub, an XT60 male-to-male coupler with a display. It’s rated up to 150 volts and a max of 30 amps. It shows voltage and current, and it also reports watts, tracks watt-hours, and shows operating time.

The kit runs about $130 and is available on Amazon here.

For anyone tired of stopping mid-setup to build a cable or hunt down an adapter, the Pecron U20 Universal Cable Kit is built to cover the usual connector gaps. Between the XT60 options, solar MC4 support, barrel connectors, and the Z30 monitor hub, it’s a practical add-on for power station owners who test, swap, and experiment often.
