How does this help when you connect to a campground wifi. you can’t increase their wifi signal.

Depending on the Wi-Fi network it picks up the signal then rebroadcasts it. It won’t increase the original signal and you may experience some loss, but it is equal to adding and extension to your waste or fresh water hoses. I used one from Linksys in my home for years.
