2026 Forest River Campsite Ultra 25JT: Compact living that thinks big

The 2026 Forest River Campsite Ultra 25JT could make the perfect downsizing RV for a couple or single traveler.

The floorplan features a rear-living layout with a roomy kitchen island and two opposing slides, which gives couples plenty of living space.

Behind the walls

Forest River built the Campsite Ultra line around laminated wall construction with block-foam insulation. The Ultra line of RVs features a one-piece PVC roof and fiberglass exterior. These choices are meant to increase strength, reduce weight, and improve thermal performance.

Interior and living space

Step inside Forest River’s Campsite Ultra 25JT and the first thing you’ll notice is how open it feels. The opposing slides in the rear create a light-filled living area with a dedicated kitchen island and large windows that make the space feel much bigger than expected.

As for storage, you’ll find lots of cabinets, built-in storage compartments, and an entertainment center with a hidden pantry. (I’m not a big fan of the hidden features, but to each their own, right?)

Kitchen

The Campsite Ultra 25JT centers the cooking space around a full-size island with solid-surface countertops and a 10-cu. ft., 12V French door refrigerator. You’ll get a conventional three-burner range and oven, plenty of counter prep area, and practical touches like a pull-out trash area and extendable cutting board/extra prep counter.

Yes, the fridge is positioned in a slide-out, and this may be a deal breaker for some RVers. As mentioned, I’m not a big fan of the hidden pantry, but it does give you extra storage space for shelf-stable foods.

Living room

The rear living area feels quite large to me because of the opposing slides. The layout is geared toward lounging and socializing with open sightlines from the rear of the rig to the TV/fireplace area and beyond.

The large rear windows make the living/dining space feel even bigger and provide access to beautiful views. If you travel in the summer or in winter months, the big windows may allow excessive heat or cold to penetrate into the trailer, so it’s a tradeoff: lots of light and potential views versus loss of inside comfort. On the plus side, there are built-in shades to help block the sun or provide privacy when needed.

Bath

The bathroom in the Campsite Ultra features a corner shower with surround, a skylight over the shower, a small sink, and a step-flush commode. It may feel a bit cramped for some RVers, but overall, the bathroom layout is generous for a trailer of this size.

There is door access from the bathroom directly to the bedroom. Some RVers may appreciate this feature. However, in a camper of this size, I’d prefer to eliminate that door in favor of some built-in towel racks. I suppose you could mount an over-the-door rack on the door.

Bedroom

The front bedroom keeps things simple and comfortable with a Camp King bed option and adequate wardrobe storage. (Do you pack hanging clothes when camping? We rarely do. I’d prefer having the option of shelving, which would store our T-shirts and jeans more easily.) Generous cabinet storage is available above the bed.

Only one side of the bed features a nightstand, which may be a downside for some RVers. There is an inverter outlet and reading lights in the bedroom, which I really appreciate.

The bedroom offers some privacy from the rear living area, although I would have preferred an actual door to close off any galley/TV noise for folks who prefer an early bedtime or later rising time.

Overall take

If you’re a couple who prioritizes interior living space, big windows, and a kitchen you can actually cook in, the Campsite Ultra 25JT delivers a lot of trailer-style comforts without pushing you into heavy towing territory. For couples who want a comfortable living space on wheels, this one’s worth a close look.

Very low cargo carrying capacity for a trailer this size. If you don’t watch out, you will be constantly overweight.

No closet space in bathroom towels and linen etc and the small closet space for clothes in bedroom or other parts of trailer.
