If this sounds familiar, youāre not imagining things. The Starlink Mini has dropped back to $299, matching a deal RVers responded to strongly the last time it appeared.
The compact satellite-internet kit $299 price appeals to boondockers, seasonal travelers, and RVers who want a lighter, simpler Starlink setup.
So, is this actually newsāor just a rerun? The answer is a bit of both.
Whatās the same as last time
This is the same Starlink Mini hardware RVers saw discounted before. Itās the small, portable dish designed for travelers who donāt want to haul or permanently mount the larger residential system. Speeds, features, and monthly service plans havenāt changed.
If you skipped the deal before because you werenāt ready, didnāt trust the price to stick, or were still weighing options, this is essentially a second chance at the same entry point.
Whatās different now
Availability is the big variable. Deals like this have come and gone quickly in the past, sometimes disappearing within days. This round appears tied to a Walmart promotion rather than a direct Starlink announcement, which means inventoryāand timingāmay be limited.
It also comes at a moment when more RVers are actively comparing cellular data, campground Wi-Fi, and satellite options as travel ramps up and remote work stays common.
Why RVers keep paying attention
For RV use, the Mini hits a sweet spot. Itās easier to store, faster to deploy, and less intimidating than the full-size dish. That makes it appealing for people who move often, camp off-grid part of the time, or just want a backup when cell service falls apart.
The $299 price doesnāt make satellite internet cheapābut it lowers the barrier enough that many RVers are willing to try it, especially those who hesitated at full price.
Explainer: Why residential Starlink doesnāt work well for traveling RVers
Starlink designs its Residential service for a fixed location. The system requires a service address and prioritizes performance only within that specific coverage cell. While itās technically possible to change your address in your account, doing so frequentlyāsay, every time you move your RVāis impractical and unreliable.
Some locations block address changes when capacity fills up, and Starlink does not design residential plans for regular travel. Thatās why RVers who move often choose Starlinkās Roam plans and portable hardware like the Mini, which work without constant address updates.
The bottom line
This isnāt a new product and itās not a new promise from Starlink. But it is the return of a deal RVers paid attention to beforeāand that alone makes it worth another look if youāre still on the fence.
If you missed it last time, or regret passing when it vanished, this may be your window.

I got the mini last week for $199 + tax and shipping. Just checked, it is still $199 for roam.
Just got ours yesterday for $199. We are currently in Florida and got it in 2 days. Shipping location in near Miami.
Set it on the dash, plugged it into the dash and bingo!
Move it into the trailer set it on the table aiming it out the window and connects immediately. Just like home!!
I just got it too, for $199, and they gave me a link to share for a month of free service.

See if this works for you – I think it has to be for new users only.
I bought ours last year when they went on sale and couldn’t be more satisfied. I can activate either 100GB/month or Unlimited Roam service as needed (and pro-rated for however many days I use it during the month) or put it into standby for $5 a month (also pro-rated), which is what I do during the winter months.
However, it really proved its worth last week when we lost our home internet service during the ice storm that hit Middle Tennessee, and it only took me about 10 minutes to set up the dish and get back online with high-speed service. We couldn’t get out of the house but at least we could stay informed and entertained.
It appears the link takes you to a WalMart supplier with low customer ratings. If you visit the Starlink Store within Walmart, it currently shows available from Walmart for $249. Curious. Checked my Starlink account page, also currently $249.
The $299 one at walmart says International. The one at Star Link is $199, not sure if it is different. Less money if you buy direct.
I bought mine for $299 back in October only to find it’s been $249 pretty much everywhere. But I love it and have used it at home and different camping trips.
As of 2/7/26 the Starlink Mini kit is $249 at Starlink and several resellers. So less than the article states but more than the $199 price which appears to have expired. Would love to know when they lower price again. It was $229 in December.
