In the video below, we join Mark and Trish from Keep Your Daydream, our readers’ pick for the BEST RV video channel for 2024, for a tour of the Airstream Globetrotter, one of the iconic brand’s larger trailers.
Yes, they bought this trailer used, as it is a 2020 model. I think the video is valuable to show you how often the used RV market is your best bet when it comes to buying an RV. Especially if you know exactly what RV you want. The video talks a bit about the experience of searching for, finding, and purchasing this trailer.
If you have followed this amazing RV channel, you know our full-time RVing hosts and their family have gone through several different RVs over the years. But as this video begins, the now empty nesters are shopping for their “forever RV,” that will accommodate two adults and a dog. They settled on Airstream because it was their favorite RV to date. Then the question became, which model?
Airstream Globetrotter 30
Enter the Airstream Globetrotter 30. Large enough for full-time living but small and nimble enough to travel with. The Keep Your Daydream team is ALWAYS on the move!
Upon inspecting the new RV, Trish’s excitement is palpable. I would be excited, too. The Airstream Globetrotter 30 is GORGEOUS! It even has me rethinking my future RV plans.
I love the light-colored interior with nautical-style windows and plenty of stainless steel and glass accents.
I used to own an (older) Airstream with a similar floor plan. It’s nice to see that they haven’t cut back on the huge amount of closet space. This is one of the reasons the center bath floor plan is always my favorite. That and the fact that it gives the back bedroom additional privacy.
The kitchen has been upgraded, as it should be, since I last owned an Airstream trailer. For instance, the microwave is on a slide out shelf that tucks away into a cabinet when not in use. There’s also a pullout pantry, gas stove, oven, large refrigerator with separate freezer, and a lot of counter space for food prep.
You can enjoy stunning views from the comfort of your bed, as the bedroom features wrap-around windows similar to the front of the RV. It has a queen-sized bed you can fully walk around, and plenty of storage.
One ingenious feature I had not seen before is the mirrors inside the bedroom cabinets that let you see the entire contents of the cabinet without having to dig around.
The center bath is divided. I like that the shower is large and even has a small seat. It might take a little getting used to the fact that you step directly out of the shower into the trailer’s main hallway, but there is a privacy curtain you can close. The toilet sits in a separate room across the hall from the shower, and there is plenty of cabinet and counter space.
What’s not to like?
The standard clearance of an Airstream, according to Mark, is totally insufficient. The way the water pipe is situated, it will drag even going in and out of driveways. So this was something he planned to adjust right away with their Airstream Globetrotter by having the trailer lifted.
This particular used trailer ended up having a problem with its converter, something Mark intended to change anyway as he planned to upgrade to lithium batteries. However, that is not a problem with all such Airstream Globetrotters.
But Mark was forced to replace the converter at their first campsite. The joys of buying RVs! It’s a good lesson to add to the things to check when buying a used RV: Make sure the batteries are charging when plugged into shore power. The video shows you how Mark did the work himself, pretty easily.

I’m no Airstream fan, but I really enjoyed this video. Probably because these folks are semi-professional videographers . . . 😀
Thank you, Cheri! Maybe Thor is keeping its mitts arm’s length from Airstream. I wonder if Tiffin is accorded the same courtesy? I guess we’ll begin hearing from owners if Thor injects itself strongly into the operation, particularly the production, of either. Safe travels! 🙂
