Buc-ee’s, the Texas-born travel center chain famous for giant stores, plentiful fuel pumps, spotless bathrooms, and snack aisles that feel like a department store, is planning what could become the largest Buc-ee’s in the world.
The surprise? This new Buc-ee’s will be in Fort Pierce, Florida. The Treasure Coast is excited to welcome this iconic travel stop.
Massive? Yup!
The proposed Fort Pierce store is massive. Plans indicate a retail space of about 76,245 square feet. That would edge out the current largest Buc-ee’s in Luling, Texas. It opened in 2024, spanning approximately 75,593 square feet.
What to expect
For starters, the Fort Pierce Buc-ee’s is expected to come with 120 gas pumps, so you won’t fight for a fill-up even on a busy travel weekend. There are also 18 electric vehicle charging stations planned. Add in more than 700 parking spaces, and you get a rest stop that’s built to handle a serious travel crowd without feeling congested.
Why Fort Pierce?
The new build is slated to go up at the intersection of Interstate 95 and Indrio Road. That’s right on one of Florida’s busiest north–south travel corridors. The new Buc-ee’s will be ideal for folks heading to or from popular Florida destinations like the Space Coast, Orlando, and Miami.
Florida’s fourth
This Fort Pierce stop will become the chain’s fourth Florida location, joining stores in St. Augustine, Daytona Beach, and another currently in development in Ocala. Florida has recently become a hotspot for Buc-ee’s expansion, drawing the popular big-box travel stop farther east and south than ever before.
Opening?
The timeline has shifted a bit as planning and approvals progress, but most reporting suggests the new Florida Buc-ee’s won’t welcome its first customers until late 2027 or early 2028. Construction could take around 18–24 months once it’s fully underway.

Not all Buc-ees welcome RVs. They are crowded and not designed for them. Getting into and out of one can be a challenge. One can usually find less expensive fuel elsewhere. If you have a large RV or are towing, look out!
We’ve only stopped at two. Once without our trailer.
Dozens of pumps, most not RV/TT friendly. They need dedicated pumps away from the buildings with RV parking spaces..
Agree. We only stopped at one Bucees and was not impressed. As mentioned, it’s kinda tight space for an RV. Our Class C is just 26′ and we had our scooter on the lift at the rear. Luckily I found a spot to back into way out, where the back end could hang over the curb. Didn’t try to get gas there. And their prices are no bargain. Do much better at Flying J/Pilot with my 10c/gal discount. I’d heard their food was real good, so I overate. Had a burrito and a pulled pork sandwich. They were good, but nothing special. Have never stopped at another one since, don’t plan to.
Meanwhile, I stopped at the world’s smallest Buc-ees last week. It’s located on US highway 90 between Marathon and Sanderson in Brewster County, TX. It’s actually an art installation that has run into some legal problems in the past, but it’s still worth a stop on a very long stretch of road that is nothing but desert and ranches. No bathrooms or beef jerky, but fun just the same.
I just searched google maps. The location is about 30 miles west of Sanderson. It seems to have a bit of a past, but is back as an art installation. That’s a long stretch of road. Good to know there is a place to take a break!
I couldn’t find it. Didn’t see it listed on Bucee’s Location List. Tried Google maps, looking along US 90 btwn Sanderson and Marathon, nada.

This story has been debunked by Buc-ees.
Buckees near Sevierville,TN is a nightmare for RVers trying to get gas ! Their 120 Gas pumps create mass confusion of entitled people going in whichever direction gets them to the Fuel pumps quickest. And worst of all is the dozens of drivers that pull up to the pump, get out go in the store and stay for 30-45 minutes some longer ! The Last time I stopped at that Buckees I waited for nearly an Hour to get to one of only a few Gas pumps that are accessible to our 38 ft. Motorhome. One young couple pulled into the pump I was moving toward, got out went into the store came back about 40 minutes later with a small bag of junk, got in their car and left, never having pumped gas at all !
It’s not in Texas, it’s in………….clickbait USA.
They bought the Houston Astrodome…1000 pumps, etc…
Buc-ees are the best. They are RV friendly and the easiest to get in and out. Not sure why the negative comments.
I don’t even attempt to go to Buckeyes, just going by them I can see what a madhouse they are especially with my 35 ft class A towing!
Not to mention, we passed one on our recent holiday trip (I think it was on I-95, SC or GA) where the traffic was completely backed up the length of the ramp, onto the interstate (both directions) for people trying to go there. No thanks!
The new one being completed this year in Murfreesboro, TN has a small round-a-bout labeled at 30mph at the main entrance. A small vehicle would definitely have problems negotiating this obstacle course. It’s located on one of the roads I usually access to get on I-24. Not anymore!
