10 secret Buc-ee’s rules nobody tells you about

By Cheri Sicard
Do you enjoy visiting Buc-ee’s, the super travel stops with lots of great things to see, do, and eat, plus seemingly endless fuel pumps? If you answered yes, you will want to check out the video below from The Grateful Glamper, as she reveals ten secret Buc-ee’s rules nobody seems to talk about.

I love Buc-ee’s and stop every chance I get, although I will warn you that they are not always big-rig friendly.

Our hostess says there are unspoken etiquette rules you should know before visiting a Buc-ee’s. She made the video to help educate her viewers and help them make the most out of the Buc-ee’s experience.

10 things you DO NOT want to do at a Buc-ee’s

#1 Don’t bring your semi-truck: Unfortunately for truckers, Buc-ee’s is NOT a truck stop. They don’t offer any big rig parking.

#2 Do not leave your vehicle at the pump while you go inside: Fill up, park, and THEN go inside.

#3 Do not skip the food at Buc-ee’s: There are so many terrific food options, you’ll have a hard time choosing. Buc-ee’s is known for its high-quality yet casual food options.

#4 Do not refill drinks: When they made the video, a super-sized fountain drink was just $1.19, but it is not refillable.

#5 Do not expect Buc-ee’s to be closed: They are open 24/7, 365 days a year.

#6 Do not expect typical gas station bathrooms: Buc-ee’s bathrooms have been voted the cleanest and nicest in America.

#7 Do not be in a hurry: With so much to see, taste, and shop for, you will not want to be rushed. Take time to explore. You’re likely to find some unique gifts and souvenirs.

#8 Don’t miss the “Beaver Nuggets”: This delicious caramel popcorn snack is highly addictive.

#9 Do NOT park overnight: Overnight boondocking, no matter how discreet, is a big no-no at Buc-ee’s.

#10 Do not go to Buc-ee’s with a clean car: This one will not apply to RVers. But if you have a regular vehicle, our hostess says that Buc-ee’s offers amazing (and amazingly long) automatic car washes.

Too many people violate #2, at Buc-ees and any other filling station. It’s should be just common courtesy, but seems uncommon.

Buc-ees, years ago first visit in FL. Brisket sandwiches. Wow ! Endless goodies and I’m hooked. Recently I pull in needing to fill the tank of the class C and even with hundreds of pumps I don’t find one to gas up in ! Endless cars at the pumps with no one pumping gas for the most part. Even a few with the nozzle in the tank and pumping gas without the supervision of a person ! Crazy stupid ! Dangerous ! A few days after Thanksgiving traveling thru Kentucky I was ready to visit the Beaver and the exit ramp off interstate was backed up to the interstate with cars. No brisket for me this time. You can’t beat the experience if you can get in !

I know Bucees doesn’t allow semis, but it sure would be nice if they had RV parking. After all, it is supposed to be a travel center. We have only been to one on a trip thru Texas in our then 43′ motorhome towing our full sized pickup. It wasn’t fun trying to find a spot to park where we wouldn’t be blocking other traffic flow in the lot. It was pretty obvious that other RVers had the same issue, but were leaving rigs sticking out into travel lanes, etc.

Went inside and yes, a lot of stuff in there, but for our needs, nothing special. We’d rather easily pull into a Loves or TA, get in and out without fighting huge crowds, and be on our way.

I am a member (free) of Love’s, Pilot-Flying J, and Maverik and get discounts on fuel and food specials. I am not ever planning to visit a Buc-ee’s with our motohome, or car for that matter. It’s just a new version of Stucky’s as far as I can tell, which once was also along every Interstate. The hype reminds me of the long lines at Krispy Kreme when it first opened locally. No lines anymore!
