Gas prices jump nearly 30 cents in a week

The cost of RVing took a big jump last week as the price of fuel rose in dramatic fashion, climbing nearly 30 cents per gallon, according to AAA. The sudden increase follows a spike in crude oil prices, driven by global supply concerns, refinery issues, and ongoing market uncertainty.

The national average for regular gasoline has risen quickly after weeks of relative stability, catching many drivers off guard. For RVers, the timing is especially challenging as spring travel ramps up and summer trips are being planned.

Analysts say the increase may not be short-lived. If crude oil prices remain elevated or supply disruptions continue, drivers could see additional increases at the pump in the coming weeks.

Gas-price-chart-4-30-26Seasonal demand typically rises this time of year as more Americans hit the road, which can further push prices higher.

For RV owners, even modest increases can add up fast. Larger motorhomes and tow vehicles often get lower fuel mileage, meaning a 30-cent jump can significantly raise the cost of a long trip.

Some RVers may adjust travel plans, shorten routes, or seek out closer destinations to manage expenses.

Experts recommend monitoring prices closely, using fuel apps to find lower-cost stations, and budgeting extra for fuel as part of trip planning this season.

We use our RV to go to dog shows. Due to higher fuel-gas or diesel-prices the # entries is dropping substantially. Could be the end for this venue.

I seriously doubt the substantial drop would be attributed just to fuel costs. I guess maybe the dog shows weren’t that important after all. We all have to make choices.

The #2 reason is todays younger group just want to come and slap a check down and leave. It takes a lot of work pre and post trial as well as just during the trial to make a successful trial. We have been doing this since the early 80’s. Life and dog trials take effort.

I remember you used to be able to write your representatives and with enough volume they shift their tune. Right now they are all in a cult hired by a foreign land just using us with an actor paid to create distraction. Stop the madness

Given that a solid plank in the Dem platform is working towards higher gas prices, do you not see the irony in Dems now complaining about high gas prices? How are you going to save the planet with low fuel prices? You should be celebrating high fuel prices as a DJT global success. The absolute gaslight on this issue is impressive.

Can’t make it up!!! I guess the good news is we are now entering a new ICE AGE, according to Al Gore…LMAO. It looks like the Dem’s high gas prices shifted enough people towards EVs that global warming is solved, but alas…. maybe we went too far with the solution to global warming, thus….

We already have a 20 day, 1400 mile trip planned for the later this month, with reservations already paid for. We are still planning on going, but might change our minds if gas prices continue to climb. I knew gas for our Class A was a big expense when we bought it, but there is a limit to how much we can afford. This could end up being one of the most expensive trips we’ve ever had, including our trip to Europe many years ago.

I redeemed some credit card points for gas gift cards. Enough to pay for gas for our 3 summer trips. Points aren’t worth much for flights anymore anyway.
Don’t see this situation improving anytime soon.

And a barrel of oil is still less than in 2022. But, as soon as oil prices started to drop, the blue people started raising the taxes on the fuel, knowing their voters wouldn’t notice. Well, at least not until the price of oil increased. They knew darn well they could blame Trump for the high price of fuel, pulling the wool over their voter’s eyes!

Almost there! Putin was responsible for that one. Now there is competition to try to be better than him. What amazing goals. War of choice (or distraction)

Are you high? Im only asking because you are correct….. JB accidentally stumbled into 5 dollar gas for no actual gain…. whereas with DJT, we know the reason, a denuked Iran. A little bang for the buck. What did 5 dollar gas under JB get you? Waiting.

While I’m waiting, can you explain how DJT got gas down to 3 dollars 3 months ago during Putins war? You can’t credibly blame Putin for Bidens high gas prices, already been debunked…. that war continues.

Big picture = this is a small price to pay in keeping Iran from nuclear weapons.
Iran has admitted to 22,000 lbs. (11 tons) of enriched uranium, while only 141 lbs. (64 kg) of enriched uranium was necessary to incinerate Hiroshima.

Due to blockade, Iran is running out of oil storage since it can’t export. Perfect checkmate. No oil out, no money and supplies coming in. This could be over in 6 weeks. Then a flood of oil hits the market. Supply overwhelms demand. Prices fall.

The US needs to build more refineries and oil pipelines for national security and the economy. Guess while political party hates oil?
