Labor Day gas prices will be down, but not much

AAA says Labor Day gas prices will be down. Still, they’re not dropping as fast as they have been recently. Prices dipped just two cents to $3.36 since last week. A slight uptick in gas demand may reflect the last hurrah for summer travelers. A storm system forming in the Atlantic may pose a threat to falling gas prices, as well. Meanwhile, the national average for Level 2 (L2) commercial electricity, an important number for e-vehicle drivers, did not budge.

Labor Day gas prices down; winter blend promises further drop

“Since today, 8/29, is my birthday, my wish is that this potential tropical storm fizzles quickly,” said Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson in a news release. “And the arrival of September means cheaper winter-blend gasoline is almost here, which always helps take pressure off pump prices.”

With an estimated 1.2 million AAA members living in households with one or more electric vehicles, AAA lists the kilowatt-per-hour cost for Level 2 (L2) commercial charging by state.

Today’s national average for a kilowatt of electricity at an L2 commercial charging station is 34 cents.

Good to hear about the steady pricing for L2 electricity. With all of the EV-RV’s on the road now, all 3 of those owners will be delighted at that news and especially the EV-RV owners that read this forum. All 1 of them will certainly be delighted with that news. The rest of us should run right out and get one because what could be better than a coal powered RV.

Not all electricity, Cancelproof, some is produced by nuclear plants (even though there still is no good way or place to put the waste) and some at natural-gas-fired plants. So, lots of greenhouse emissions and other pollutants ramping up, but centralized, as electricity production increases to power EVs. 😉 Of course, coal IS the most abundant energy source available in the U.S. of A. 😉 Have a great weekend (if I may jump the gun), safe travels, and safe stays! 🙂

Thanks Neal. A wish for a great weekend to you and DW as well.

PS: I’m pro-choice on EVs, just not much for all the “Hollywood Green” virtue signaling because once you add in the new coal fired electric plants in China to build American EV components, at a rate of 3-5 new coal plants coming on line per month and the “Hollywood Green” head scratching really starts up.

You’re very welcome, Cancelproof. Ditto. In fact, I’d like to get one, but DW doesn’t see value in a third car. She’s not giving up her Mustang GT convertible, and we want a car that can be towed 4-wheels down. So, we also have a Jeep Grand Cherokee that doubles as the trip-vehicle. Cheers!

Thank you, Russ and Tina! 🙂 Well yesterday was 5 days before Labor Day and we bought almost 54 gallons of diesel at a Love’s near Manchester, Tennessee (I-24 west) for $3.56/gallon. DW is burning through gasoline, so we’ll see what metro-Nashville prices are quite soon, I suspect. 🤔😯😉 Thanks again, have a great day, safe travels, and safe stays! 🙂

Does the price of L2 commercial charging station of 34 cents include the other fees added on our electric bill?
