NBC hopes to introduce the RV lifestyle to a broader audience when The Today Show features RVs on July 23 and 24. Al Roker and Craig Melvin will hit the road in a motorhome provided by Winnebago. The Go RVing PR team helped plan the trip, which begins in New York, and includes stops in Boston and Maine, where it will include live broadcasts as well as recorded segments that will also appear online.
“This is an exciting opportunity to share the RV lifestyle with Today’s large audience,” said Kevin Broom, RV Industry Association’s director of media relations. “This couldn’t happen without enthusiastic industry partners like Winnebago, which provided the motorhome on short notice, and our entire PR team, which arranged nearly every detail of this trip.”
This will be Roker’s second on-air trip in an RV. He previously drove a motorhome for one leg of a trip in which he reported a weather forecast in all 50 states in just seven days. On this trip, Roker and Melvin will stay in the RV overnight in a Maine campground.
Hopefully, NBC folks will mention the ever shrinking number of RV Parks across the country. Especially parks that will accept well maintained RVs that are over 10 years old. The age limit on RVs seems to be encroaching and making it even harder for even those of us with well maintained older luxury coaches
Somehow I’m guessing they are not going to talk about that. With this being sponsored by the RV industry, all we are going to hear is how great everything is.
Then we need to flood NBC with comments showing the real side of the RV life! Email, Facebook, Twitter – hit them all!

I`m guessing the RV they get from Winnebago will not have factory flaws to be fixed by a dealer whenever they have time to get around to it. It might be a good one to buy used.
I happened to see this episode (quite by accident), and I was struck by Roker bragging about how fast he drove the vehicle. Also, it turns out Roker spent the night at a fancy B&B. Lastly, no signs of local antipathy to “trailer people”; it looks like the whole town of 30 people turn out to wish them well at their campsite. And yeah, no mention of spending any nights at Wally.
