Are you doing anything special for Labor Day today?

Happy Labor Day! Feels like yesterday that we were wishing you a happy Memorial Day, doesn’t it? Summer sped by, as it always does, in the blink of an eye. Sigh. But, alas, our beloved summer months have come and gone and now it’s time to start thinking about our fall clothes, our leaf-peeping day trips and our pumpkin lattes and hot apple ciders.

Are you doing anything special for Labor Day this year? A family BBQ or get-together perhaps? A socially-distanced outdoor adventure?

Please tell us in the poll below and leave a comment too, if you feel like sharing what you’re up to. Thanks, and enjoy your day!

We have our coach loaded up and are leaving this AM, with Motorcycle on the lift and Jeep in tow, for 2 weeks in the Oregon Coastal mountains. One week near Bend then another in Canyonville. Should be a great way to “break” the monotony of this Covid Summer…

Scrubbing the motorhome today after 4 months stationary. Getting underway on the 10th, heading west MN to visit friends and relatives, then south to end up in Joshua Tree, CA for 3 weeks to visit with my brother. Retired life is good.

We were going to have a small family eat out here at the campground where we stay when visiting son and family. But mother nature is getting in the way as it starting raining yesterday and as not stopped so far today. Our spot is quite flat and under some water so I guess we will be indoors at our sons place Not nearly as much fun as an outdoor cookout

Totally agree, if we’re not already out and staying put, we just don’t travel on holidays…

Going to a beach campground for 2 weeks. I won’t tell you where it is because it’s already getting to crowded after Labor Day.

Small family barbecue at our house to celebrate granddaughter who is entering her pre-college quarantine, then moving into the dorm and doing all classes online. The “college experience” will be very different this year.

It is mandated in the Montana state constitution that Memorial Day and Labor Day both have some of the worst weather of the summer. It was 85 here yesterday . . . and raining with a high of 41 predicted today. Think I’ll sit in a comfy chair and watch through the window.

We are here in Yellowstone right now, looking at the weather forecast and it looks snowy and cold with rain coming in first. Brrrrrrrr! Staying indoors with Aqua Hot running!

Getting together with some friends for lunch/dinner today. Too crowded at the beaches in S/W Florida today before e storms this afternoon and too many boat rally’s in Charlotte Harbor. Same as yesterday’s weather, tomorrow’s and Wednesday’s. Going RVing on Friday for a five day weekend, so getting things done before.
Happy Labor Day to everyone and remember to mask up when in crowds!
Be safe

In sun-scorched Arizona and in our RV community, our very sweet neighbors made a lovely party for about 7 of us yesterday afternoon and evening. We talked and laughed and ate BBQ and had watermelon margaritas. Hummingbirds buzzed back and forth. The sun got replaced by a clear, starlit evening, and it was just a really special time!

Heading out to local state park with a friend that just purchased his first Class A coach and hopefully share some knowledge for a few days. Campfires and good friends, isn’t that what its all about!

Nothing special today, but we did get away to the UP of Michigan Mon.-Thurs. last week. Interesting tidbit – We took the Soo Locks boat tour and were in Canada briefly as the tour goes through the Canadian lock on the return leg. So you’re in Canadian waters with Canadian land on both sides. We were properly social distancing on the boat and while conversing with the Canadians on shore!

The smoke is so thick here in Sou Cal and with 114º heat predicted for today, that it makes doing anything outside very difficult. So no, we’re staying inside with the AC on to help keep our lungs free of the smoke particles.

Main thing today is getting ready to travel. Tomorrow we leave our summer workamping gig in Garibaldi, OR (Old Mill RV Park & Event Center) and begin our trek to our winter workamping gig at Bentsen Palm Village RV Resort in Mission, TX, stopping along the way to see friends, family, and sights.

We made a morning decision to go camping. We joined Boondockers Welcome and found a wonderful spot a little over an hour south of us to spend the day and night. We figured if we were going to be alone on a holiday, we might as well be camping.
