When you crawl into your cozy bed at night, do you usually or ever read before you fall asleep?
For some people, reading in bed at night is part of their routine. For others, maybe they only do it if the book they’re reading is just so good and gripping that they absolutely cannot put it down! But for others, they prefer their books in the morning with their cup of coffee—ah, how relaxing!
What about you? Do you read in bed at night? If so, is it every night? Only some nights? Rarely? Never?
After you vote, please leave a comment and tell us when your preferred reading time is.
Oh, and if you’re currently reading something good, tell us about it, too! We always love and appreciate book recommendations. And we’re sure others do, too. Thanks!
Editor’s note: I (Emily) just finished reading The Women by Kristin Hannah. If you’re not familiar with Kristin Hannah, you should be. She’s an incredible storyteller, and you get lost in her worlds and her characters. The Women is about the nurses of the Vietnam War. If you love historical fiction, you’ll love it! (And yes, I stayed up late in bed reading it!)
(And a note from Diane: I used to work with Kristin when she was an attorney in Seattle. She’s an amazing person as well as storyteller. BTW, I’ve read all of her books—not because I know her, but because they’re that good.👍👍)

I stay up late reading, but not in bed. Bed is for sleeping only.
I’m usually very tired and ready for sleep. Most times I don’t even turn on the tv…..it’s lights out.
Love my Kindle Paperwhite~ easy to read in dark. I download books from library.
I used to, but then the wife changed bed sheets to ones with no writing on them.
🤣 Thanks, Bill. Have a great day. 😀 –Diane at RVtravel.com
LOL!
I read on smartphone. I’m not the only one.
In my opinion at night there are only 2 things to do in the bed. Pray for a good night sleep, make effort to have such.
But I’m mostly reading articles, doing social media and streaming shows via my iPad.
