The holiday season is here, and for many RVers, that means figuring out how to bring Christmas cheer into their homes and RVs.
Our question today is: Will you put up a Christmas tree this year? If so, will it be real or artificial? Real trees bring the charm of fresh fir and tradition, but they come with challenges like shedding needles and disposal. Artificial trees, on the other hand, are practical, reusable, and easy to store—perfect for RV living.
For those who love real trees, the adventure often starts with visiting a tree farm or even cutting one down in the wilderness.
But artificial trees have their own appeal, with slim designs for small spaces and pre-lit options for quick setup. Some RVers even opt for tiny tabletop trees or creative DIY alternatives to save space.
What about you? Will a Christmas tree be part of your holiday traditions this year?
Cast your vote in the poll below, and let us know your thoughts in the comments. Whether you’re team real or artificial, your ideas might inspire a fellow RVer to try something new this holiday season!

I haven’t had a real tree for decades because I am allergic to pine. We had a live one, not a cut one, just once since we were married 50+ years ago and planted it in the spring. Why kill a tree to celebrate Christmas?
We’ll put up the same table-top tree we’ve had for the last 40-years.
We went to a 2+ foot table top a few years ago and put it in our big bay window. Had real trees for years, then a full sized fake tree, then downsized to this one. Love it. Out of the way and simple to put up and take down.
A small 3′ table top. The expense of a real tree is way over priced. In the past I would purchase a real 5′ tree potted then in spring wheel it out of the house then plant. But that now is costly. So use the artificial and save a tree.
We have a little Norfolk Pine we keep in a pot. It goes on the porch in the summer and in the living room in the winter. A few bulbs and a string of lights and Voila!
Technically, we don’t use a tree, just part of one. We have a large pine in the yard and each year just cut an appropriately shaped branch…
That took me back a few decades when my Dad did that! His home was surrounded by literally thousands of pines. They were all getting too big for a Christmas tree, so he did exactly that. Cut off a big branch and used it! 😁
