Do you like pickles?

Pickles, you either love them or you hate them! Or, maybe not! Maybe you like them, but you don’t LOVE them, and maybe you think they’re just okay.

For many RVers, pickles are the perfect snack to keep in the fridge for a road trip. They’re portable, easy to pack, and can be enjoyed in a variety of ways—whether on a sandwich, alongside a hot dog, or just on their own. Plus, they last a long time, making them an ideal pantry staple when you’re on the move.

You can even find pickles in all kinds of flavors and varieties, from classic dill to spicy or even sweet bread and butter pickles, ensuring there’s something for everyone’s taste.

Some RVers even swear by pickles for their health benefits. Pickles, especially those fermented and made with vinegar, can help with digestion due to their probiotic content.

They’re also a low-calorie snack, which is perfect when you’re craving something crunchy but don’t want to break your diet. Of course, if you’re watching your sodium intake, there are low-salt versions out there, as well, so everyone can enjoy them without guilt.

Then there’s the process of making pickles. Have you ever tried pickling your own vegetables while on the road? It’s a fun and rewarding activity for RVers who love to get creative with their food. You can experiment with different herbs and spices to craft your own unique pickle recipe. It’s a great way to pass the time at a campsite, and the result is a batch of homemade pickles that can be enjoyed for weeks to come.

After you vote in today’s poll, feel free to leave a comment and tell us about your pickle preferences. Are you a kosher dill kinda gal? Or are you a bread and butter pickle kinda guy?

I purchase a Polish pickle at a specialty shop.
Cannot eat the typical Koshier Dills.
One a day.

Go to The Pickle Factory in Jacksonville, FL if you are a lover.

There’s a wide variety of pickles out there and I only eat dill pickles, I don’t care for sweet ones at all. Problem is, everyone in my family want bread and butter pickles or sweet pickles so if I don’t buy them they’re usually not in the house.

I like some pickles in small amounts – a bite or two, relish on hotdogs or one to three slices on a hamburger.

Love them, but my love has limits – no sweet pickles!

I do not like pickles, but bread and butter and relish is good.

I don’t care for the dill pickles. I remove them from my hamburgers. I prefer the sweet pickles, and you no longer find them on take-to-go hamburgers. Thus, I did not answer the poll today.

I like all pickles. Favorite is mini sweet. Mom used to bring those out on special occasions. Was hard to get me to eat anything else. DW likes sour. Guess which we have at home!

Sweet pickles or bread and butter, sweet pickle relish. No dill, the family gives those to the wife.

Mini Sweet is my favorite, but dill is ok too. Me … sweet, wife…dill. Pharmacist recently told me a sip of dill juice during a acid reflux attack, puts out the fire.

Besides pickles giving great added taste to many foods, the nutritional value of pickles varies depending on their type and size. For example, a whole dill pickle can have about:

  • 20% of the daily recommended amount of vitamin K, which helps your blood clot and keeps your bones strong
  • 6% of the calcium adults need for strong bones and teeth and healthy nerves
  • 2% of your daily requirement of potassium, which helps your nerves work right
  • 3%-4% of your daily requirement of vitamin C, an antioxidant that protects your cells from damage
  • 1% of the daily value of vitamin A, important for your vision, immune system, and a healthy pregnancy

Pickles also contain phosphorus and folate.

I like dill pickles only. Clausen brand is best. Sweet pickles are unnatural!

I love sweet pickles. I cannot stand those disgusting dill pickles!

I do not care for dill pickles but can eat them if they are chopped small in a potato salad. I love sweet pickles, though. You could have qualified the question better. 😁

Years ago I like the sliced pickles they sold that were the diameter of the hamburger buns. On my holiday hamburgers. Don’t see them selling them anymore.

Pickles. Dill pickles, gerkins, bread&butter, mustard pickles, sour pickles and any of the relishes. The house smelling of vinegar and spices when my grandmother was canning. Jars lined up on the counter, dining table and everywhere else.

Dill, not sweet. Mom use to make pickles in a crock and I miss them. Never found pickles that taste as good.
