In what season(s) of the year do you most often RV? Do you go camping mostly in the beautiful, warm summer months? Or do you drive south and camp in the winter months to find sunny, warm weather? Do you like to camp in the beautiful fall colors? Or near the spring flowers?
Every season has its own unique charm for RVers. Summer is a classic favorite, with long days, clear skies, and kids out of school—making it ideal for family adventures and exploring national parks. But summer can also bring higher temperatures and crowded campgrounds, especially in popular destinations. Some RVers choose to travel to cooler, higher-elevation spots during this time, while others embrace the heat and head for lakes, rivers, or coastal breezes.
Fall, on the other hand, offers a slower pace and cooler weather. Many RVers love to chase the changing leaves, enjoying scenic drives through the mountains or quiet nights under crisp, starry skies. Fall festivals, apple orchards, and harvest markets add even more flavor to autumn camping.
Meanwhile, winter is the season of the snowbirds—those who head to warmer states like Arizona, Florida, or Texas, to escape the chill. If you’re lucky enough to have the flexibility, winter camping can be peaceful and crowd-free, with a strong sense of community among fellow travelers.
Spring brings a breath of fresh air—literally. Campgrounds start to reopen in colder regions, wildflowers bloom, and wildlife becomes more active. It’s the perfect season for hiking, birdwatching, and shaking off the winter cobwebs. For many RVers, spring is a time of renewal and reconnection with nature.
After you vote, feel free to leave a comment. We’d love to hear what draws you to your favorite season—or seasons! And remember, in this poll, you can select up to four answers if you camp in all four seasons about the same.

We go camping in our travel trailer year round – one week every month. No sense having it and not using it.
Full-timers. Camping every season
I tried to vote spring and fall, but only one was allowed !
I also wanted to vote Spring and Fall. Mostly because the temperatures are more comfortable and campgrounds are not as crowded because the kids are still in school.
We also try to avoid weekends. Sunday through Friday work for us.
You sound just like us. 👍👍
WE CAMP SPRING, SUMMER AND FALL. Last year wintered in Florida
Why not a full time option??
As retirees we prefer Spring and Fall. We leave summer and the holiday weekends for families who don’t have the flexibility we do.
Every month, but January. 10 days to 2 weeks monthly.
We are seasonally FT – roughly 6 months in a RV south for the cold season and the same in a northern house for the warm season. But we have a 2nd single axle TT that we use year-round – both for the migration and travel away from our two bases.
About 100 days annually May – October. I used to do winter camping in Minnesota, but haven’t now for a couple decades.
Spring and Fall for us. Fewer families on the road because school is in session.
Spring, summer , fall (it wouldn’t allow more than one choice); occasionally winter.
We live in the US SW, and some places we go aren’t open in the cold months, often snowed in. Others are too hot to enjoy in the summer.
My husband isn’t retired yet, our trips tend to be 1-2 weeks. We hope to have 5 trips this year (back surgery may force cancellation of the first planned).
20yrs FT. ALL seasons.
Fall and winter (snowbirding S of I-10), but could only vote for one, so picked winter.
We do our long trips in spring and fall, but go out on 4-7 day trips in the summer. The only season we don’t travel in is winter. We won’t travel over snow-covered mountain passes and there’s no point in going to the coast to sit inside during the rain.
Although not full timers but more like “almost half-timers”, we camp pretty much in any season. We head North as things heat up and head South when the chill turns to cold.
We call ourselves “most-timers” 😀
I only go when all the summer tourons are home
