Where are you headed next with your RV? Maybe “Down Maine” for some lobster or to the South for some fresh catfish? Or maybe you’re headed out West to explore Utah’s gorgeous Red Rock Country or search for a wild jackalope in Wyoming.
Or are you headed up to the Northwest, to visit North Cascades National Park, maybe hike up the side of magnificent Mount Rainier, or visit the country’s only temperate rain forest in Olympic National Park (it gets 144 inches of rain a year on average)? You have never seen moss like you’ll see there!
Or are you simply driving up the highway a bit to your favorite forest service or state park campground?
So, the question is: When you head out on your next RV trip, where will you likely go?
Curious minds want to know. Remember, the poll could take a few moments to load if you’re on a slow internet connection. So stand by there, partner!
Oh, and if you want to tell us where you’re going on your next RV trip, we’d love to hear!

We are headed to the north shore of Lake Superior.
So north of the Mississippi. And a southern Texas or Central American destination would be south of the Mississippi. We thought we’d make it to the north shore this year but can’t fit the extra fuel prices in the budget.
That was my same problem with this poll. Our house is on an island in the middle of Lake Superior (Michigan’s Keweenaw peninsula – it is bisected). We winter in Texas. Almost border to border across CONUS. At each base, we explore places that could be east or west of the Mississippi.
So are we!
We’ve not been west of the Mississippi in more than 35 years and have no immediate plans to do so. We’re limiting our travels east of the Mississippi until after fuel prices return to normal.
And 🧊 I’d annihilated
Both. We are traveling east across Canada from BC and will be going back west through northern US.
Do not miss Medora, ND! (1-94 near the Mt border) Pitchfork Fondue, TRF library, TRF Ntn’l Park, city swimming pool. Two big campgrounds, with rides from the campgrounds to the evening fondue and professional play at the amphitheater in the hills. (Escalators too!). Lots more too!
NC then MO (June)
AL (Aug)
FL (Sep)
Booked MN north shore campgrounds for August. Fuel prices are not an issue. Besides oil prices have dropped and will continue declining.
No changes in our other camping plans and bookings in northern WI. Still have future year plans to visit Glacier in MT. Love traveling in the West.
We live in the US SW and our 5 trips this year will all be one-week long, so west of the Mississippi.
Laughlin to Seattle for wedding in July then down the coast 3 weeks .. Then little trips with grandkids
We will not be leaving lower Western Michigan, so that puts us East of the Mississippi. Fuel prices are killing any long distance plans. The fuel in the MH tank will take us to all the places we have planned this year and this might be the first year I put the coach in the barn for the first time without a full tank of diesel. We will see when October comes as to what we do.
Driving to Alaska starting Monday! Woowho!
East and west of the Mississippi for us. From north Texas to New Mexico, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan’s UP, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and then back through Nebraska, Colorado, New Mexico and home to North Texas. 10 1/2 weeks.
St. Andrew’s State Park in Panama City Beach, Fl. One of our favorites!
The Mississippi River at it’s nearest point is 1800 miles east. I will be staying west of it cooling my toes in the Pacific Ocean
I thought about canceling my trip from Ohio to the Pacific NW due to fuel prices. My kids didn’t want to hear that. I’ll be 72 this year and I’m not sure how many more years I’ll be doing this, so I’m heading out!
We feel the same way….we plan to do as we have for many years now before circumstances clip our wings.
Would have been west but the high cost of diesel has us sticking closer to home this summer. 🙁
This year, our trip will be on both sides of Ol’ Miss. However, we live in the west and find RVing there much easier to do.
FRVA in Sedalia, Missouri.
Thank you for the question, RV Travel. We live east of the Mississippi River and typically travel there. Have a great day and safe travels!
Our next trip is both East then West of the Mississippi. 1st stop from home in TX is Hot Springs AR, then Indianapolis IN, then Springfield MO. Not sure of where after that.
We just came back from 2 months out west. This year we are exploring the Southeast, since we live and grew up in Florida. After the S.E. we are going to drive what is left of Route 66.
