RV shipments continue steady decline for the year

Total RV shipments from manufacturers to dealers continued their year-long slide in May with 22,900 units shipped, a 18.7% decrease from the 28,150 units shipped in May 2025.

For the year, shipments are down 14.4% with 138,160 RVs shipped through five months compared to 161,373 last year.

Towable RVs, led by conventional travel trailers, ended the month down 21.3% from last May with 19,679 shipments. Fifth wheel trailer shipments were down 38.1 percent at the end of May with only 3,588 total units shipped for the month. Folding camping trailers continued to be a minor part of the total RV shipment mix with only 273 shipped in May — a total of 1,955 for the year.

Motorhomes finished the month up 2.2% compared to the same month last year with 3,221 units. Class C units were up 14.6 percent for May, and the largest and most expensive Class A rigs were down 13.2 percent bringing the year-to-date total of Class A’s to 3,086, an average of about two shipments a day per state.
