nu camp tab 4002024 nüCamp TAB 400 luxury tiny trailer

By Cheri Sicard
Being on the road these past few years I have run across several nüCamp TAB (or T@B) owners. They all shared one thing in common. When asked about their RVs, they could not sing their praises enough.

OK, it’s anecdotal evidence, but I have yet to meet a TAB owner who didn’t love their RV. After watching the tour from Eddie Gape of Veurink’s RV Center in the video below, I can see why.

Ask Dave
Why doesn’t water get hot when heater on electric mode but does on propane?

By Dave Solberg
Dear Dave,
I have a Suburban SW12DE water heater in my RV. When using 120V electric only the temperature of the water is just lukewarm. However, when using propane the temp gets good and hot. (Using 120V by itself in the past worked just fine.) My question: Is the thermostat the same for both sources of heat? I don’t want to replace the electric heating element then find out that wasn’t the problem. —Jim, 2013 Big Horn 3010RE  Read Dave’s answer.

RVer has spooky, scary National Forest camping encounter

By Cheri Sicard
In the video below, we join Larry from Work Less, Enjoy Life More on a truck camper camping trip in the mountains just south of Flagstaff, Arizona. Here, Larry experiences his most disturbing camping night yet, including a spooky National Forest encounter that scared him and his two dogs, Mason and Marty. Here’s the story.

TRIVIA: Brian Williams, former anchor of the NBC Evening News, will anchor Amazon.com’s first-ever live-streaming election coverage. The temporary set will be located on a soundstage where the yellow brick road wound towards Oz in the 1939 classic MGM film “The Wizard of Oz.”

Oh, my gourd! These Halloween RVs are too cute to spook

Happy Howloween! Ah, remember the good ol’ days when you’d say, “Time to get the decorations down from the attic (er, out of the undercarriage), Honey!” only at Christmas time? Now we say that for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving… oh, and Halloween, of course. Check out these reader-decorated RVs and other Halloween-themed RVs we found across the web. Oh, what fun!

Reader poll
What will you do tonight to celebrate Halloween?

Respond here.

Quick tip
Dry out the fridge!

Pop open that refrigerator door and what do you see? Mold and mildew? Yuck! So how do you avoid it? Just be sure you wipe down your fridge when you turn it off. Using a kitchen wipe like Lysol or Clorox will help eliminate some of the “starting medium” for unwanted growths. Then be sure to open the fridge door to dry everything out, and then keep it cracked open until you turn it on again. Some manufacturers provide a slide latch, or even an accessory card to hold them open. Yours didn’t? Slide a folded hand towel into the open door and gently close the door until it catches on the towel.

This website is very cool. It shows you what foods are in season at your location. Select your state, the month, and any type of produce (or all produce) and it shows you a list. We’ll be using this often!

??  MYSTERY PRODUCT OF THE DAY  ??
In the spirit of trick or treating, giving this to someone would be a REALLY mean trick… but mwhahaha… we love it.

And the survey says…

We’ve polled RVtravel.com readers more than 2,500 times in recent years. Here are a few things we’ve learned about them:

• When eating Oreo cookies, 16 percent eat the filling first, then the cookie.
• 9 percent have had something stolen from their campsite.
• A bear has visited 37 percent of their campsites.

Recent poll: Do you use regular dinner plates or paper plates when dining in your RV?

Trivia

Home Depot’s $149, 12-foot giant skeleton, Skelly, helps the home improvement company set record sales during Halloween every year. So says Bloomberg.

Readers’ pet of the day

“Pete (Belgian Malinois/GSD) was a rescue we got in 2021. He was three months old and weighed 13 lbs. He was a fantastic member of the family. Loved RVing all over the USA. Even riding in the side-by-side through the the mountains in Wyoming. Sadly he crossed the Rainbow Bridge 4 months ago. Unbeknownst to us, he was born with only a partial kidney.” —Richard Butler

We are so sorry to hear of Pete’s passing, Richard. He looks like he was a perfect campfire and camping companion. You gave him his best life and he was so lucky to have found you.

Send us a photo of your pet with a short description. No blurry photos and please do not submit your photo more than once. Thanks!

Leave here with a laugh

Are we excited that today is Halloween?
