The five details most RV buyers overlook
Most RV buyers focus on price, floor plan, and flashy features first. That makes sense, but the biggest regrets usually come from the less obvious stuff. A better RV choice often comes down to build quality, weight, ride, tank sizes, and whether the rig actually works well on a normal travel day. Jason Epperson of RV Miles breaks it all down here.

Quick tip
Sanitary sewer hose storage
Your sewer hose is a useful, necessary item. It is, however, germy. The best approach is to consider it a source of ill health or disease and take necessary precautions. Store it in a closeable plastic container, and save your utility bumper for something else. —From “100 RV Tips and Tricks: Bonus Edition With Motorhome Tips”. Available on Amazon.

Love the laugh!! We are recently retired. While working, it was always “fun” to tell all the “kids” stories about the “old days” before cell phones and GPS!! Went coast to coast in ’83, camped for a month, all the major NP’s no reservations
They think that we were ancient explorers using paper maps!! And a pay phone!!! They wouldn’t know how to dial one!!
Sami is the perfect traveling companion
nice pic of him at a great site by the water. Thanks for sharing
Sami is a cutie and so well traveled. Sounds like an excellent travel companion. Keep on camping.
Reading this on my iPhone is almost impossible. Ads popping up constantly, gumming everything up. And yes, I’m a subscriber. It’s fine on my Mac book.
Richard and Miles, try using the reader function in search bar of Safari on your iPhone (or iPad). That’s the only way I can read it now. There are so many ads on the page…..but I realize RVT has to make a living, too.
Hi Richard,
While we do allow ads (we have to), they shouldn’t be popping up constantly or slowing everything down. That doesn’t sound pleasant! If you continue to experience this, please send me a screenshot at editor@rvtravel.com, and I’ll take a look.
Also, be sure to look for the little “x” in the corner of any ads that can be closed—that should remove them.
Thank you for your readership, Richard, and I’m sorry for the frustration!
Emily,
you probably don’t want to get in the position of recommending specific web browsers but, based on my personal experience, if the user would simply switch to using Duck-Duck-Go as a browser they won’t see any ads.
Just a thought.
A rotary dial would confuse them even more then when our daughter brought in a portable record player to show and tell for K class one year. One child asked if that was predecessor to the dvd player. Yeah that one stuck with me for a long time. So I agree with the children of this day and age that would be so lost if everything crashed.
And the fall setting looks wonderful. Autumn is my favorite time to camp. Quiet campgrounds, fresh air, crisp mornings.
Richard, I have the same issues! Very frustrating to say the least. 😤
Great information on the propane tank and certification. It doesn’t effect me personally, but very interesting to know.
