The top 10 things I’ve learned while RVing
By Gail Marsh
One of my favorite books is Robert Fulghum’s “All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten.” I was given this book upon retirement after 40 wonderful years of teaching Kindergarten students. I recently found my treasured book and reread Fulghum’s musings. It got me thinking about my life as it is now. As it turns out, much of what Fulghum says in his famous book can be applied to the RVing life.

The quick tip wallboard anchors? Those are for Drywall. Besides, as far as I know there’s no drywall in RV’s. Most have a thin wallboard over some type insulation and are not that deep.
After seeing the quality of the electric and plumbing that are visible in ours, I’ll never be brave enough to poke a hole in any of it’s walls. Sometimes we have had luck with Command Strips. Sometimes.
Some Command Strips have heat sensitive glues. They will detach in Southern summers. The heavy duty ones seem to stick better.
Yes. These anchors are made to be set into drywall, not thin plywood.
The only permanent type of anchor for thin walls are Molly Anchors. They splay out on the inside and compress on the material. They are available for various thicknesses.
Plus, the screw can be removed and the anchor stays in the wall.
I use Metal Self-Drilling Hollow-Wall Anchors.
We started our semi-annual migration back to the north lands this week. Drove part of Route 66 in El Reno, Oklahoma yesterday. The town is proud of it’s heritage. Not sure why our country gave up the route – other than saving the Federal government some money.
Lucky Lucy that she found you when you both needed it!
Laugh – I am convinced, after 20 yrs FT all over N. America, I’m the only one who drives the speed limit….. Calmly.
Sadly, I and my granddaughter and family lost a friend during the nite of May 5th. He was only 38 with a family with young kids, 13 and 8. He was crossing a street in the dark to his home and was hit by a car driven by a 25 yr. old women. City and Hiway Patrol are investigating all aspects. The women left the scene then returned 10 minutes later! Stay alert! Be situational aware. Hard enuf losing many older friends these past few months – let alone a young person with a life yet to be lived and a 25 yr. old driver with a life of a bad memory to relive and remember.
I’m very sorry to hear about your friend, Doug. What a tragedy. Sincere condolences to all. Take care.🤗 –Diane
I am so sorry for your loss. A tragic loss for the young kids left behind.
And the idiots who have to go over 80 are the ones who consume more fuel so I have to pay inflated prices for what I put in my tank. It’s a supply and demand issue for those who don’t understand.
