About the Virginia testing showing that 49% of pro drivers likely have sleep apnea; IF YOU SNORE, you’re pretty sure to have it. Get tested by doing a sleep study. Once you’re on treatment, a C-PAP machine, you will sleep a whole lot better, AND a bed partner will be so much happier and sleep better too. There are a couple of web forums you can find that are a very worthwhile resource. This from one who was once banished from the bedroom but have now returned……

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and used an APAP(adjustable pressure) for 8 years while driving truck. I tried every mask, nose piece device available, I would go to sleep wearing the device and wake up the next morning with it some where in the sleeper. I would pull it off my face during the night and discard it, the machine sitting there blowing full blast.

@Bob P~ well, at least there have been some tech changes in the machines. The last two I’ve used shut themselves off after a few seconds if not being used. Perhaps the pressure in yours was not set high enough to provide comfortable breathing. Some folks seem to have a very hard time with anything on their face, others not so much. Having been a SCUBA/commercial diver for many years and quite comfortable with masks made it an easy adaptation for me.

According to the docs, treating sleep apnea has several health benefits aside from not falling asleep at the wheel. I would council anyone who thinks they or theirs has that issue try real hard to make the therapy work for them. My $0.02.

Regarding people getting scamed. If it is true I almost don’t feel sorry for them. After all the warnings put out that was just dumb to fall for it, and if it is true now all the scammers will be targeting RV’ers looking for the $35,000 payday, Thanks dummies’.

Hi, Samuel. Here’s my response to Ray, under the “Con game” article itself:
“Thank you for your concern, Ray. However, I’m pretty sure that we have more honest readers who may learn from this case in point, than readers (if any) who are low-life scammers who might think, “Ah ha! I can rob RVers!” Take care, and stay safe. 🙂 —Diane at RVtravel.com

Went to the Tampa RV Show on 1/16/2021. It was amazing how many people did NOT wear a mask, probably 25%. Also many folks used the mask to keep their chin warm!! Didn’t stay long, felt it wasn’t safe!!

I’m sorry, but I do not agree that snowbirders should be getting the vaccine while VISITING the U.S. or come from other states. Our government paid for these vaccines to be distributed to our people and the rollout has been confusing and limited since it began. Long lines of our people waiting for vaccinations. Adding people from another state or country would only make things worse.
The local governments are trying to set schedules for their residents, the ones that pay the taxes.

Even though we are currently in Florida for the winter I agree 100%. It would make me feel like I’m jumping the line. If I was a Florida resident I would be very upset. Hopefully I won’t regret my thoughts!

Having the people around you being vaccinated should help protect you. And it is a federal rollout.

The RV exhibitions, life must go on, the economy must continue, people need food, and must work. All work is essential, businesses must stay open. If your health is not good or you want to hibernate stay home.

Thank you for the reminder of Things to smile about. I have skipped over it until you mentioned it. I now read it and what a uplift and a smile it gives me. Even a few tears of so much love people still have to share.

Kind of disappointed that there was no brain teaser this weekend. I really look forward to it each week

This must be one of the items eliminated from the newsletter we common folks get. Apparently now you have to pay for your brain teaser.

Hi, Gene. No, there just wasn’t a brain teaser for this week (I’m not sure why). But both editions of the newsletter contain all of the same content (except for no ads in the members edition). The couple of features that had been removed from the regular edition were put back in after further consideration. Have a great day. 🙂 —Diane at RVtravel.com
