I have fair skin and do my best when outdoors to wear hats, protective clothing and sunscreen. But the latter always fills me with dread. While researching topicals when creating my online course on how to make Cannabis Topicals, I discovered that the sunscreens we typically use contain tons of toxic and questionable ingredients. While I did come up with a natural-infused sunscreen for my course, it does have a problem common to many natural sunscreens. Its zinc oxide base leaves a white tint on the skin (not as bad as clown white makeup which is also zinc oxide based, but bad enough). Not so with ROUND LAB’s Birch Juice Moisturizing Sunscreen.
My nephew, who has the same fair skin type as me, first recommended this product to me after doing a fair amount of research on his own. He, too, had been searching for a sunscreen that was free of potentially harmful ingredients. Along the way, he discovered this Korean brand that is developing a devoted fan base on Amazon and beyond.
I also wanted a sunscreen free of toxic ingredients, but I also wanted a sunscreen with moisture. Too many of them are drying, something my aging skin does not need.
I am happy to say that this moisturizing sunscreen has a lightweight, soft, creamy texture that quickly absorbs and leaves your skin feeling like you are wearing nothing at all.
In addition to the sun, this moisturizing sunscreen also protects against blue light generated by smartphones, computer monitors, televisions, etc. And perhaps best of all, it’s reef-safe and ocean-friendly.
What I especially like about ROUND LAB Birch Juice Moisturizing Sunscreen
- Clinically proven 55 SPF
- Clinically proven 19.80 PFA protection
- Ocean-friendly and reef-safe
- No white residue
- Moisturizes as well as protects
- A small amount goes a long way
- Fragrance-free
- Active ingredients: Niacinamide helps decrease hyperpigmentation and brightens skin tone, and hyaluronic acid provides hydration.
What can be improved?
I can’t think of anything to improve. I was thrilled to find this product and will be getting this sunscreen from now on and checking out some of their other products.

Where is the “clinically proven” information on the approved in the U.S.? I’d be skeptical on items from foreign countries on my skin. IMHO!
I always find this topic interesting. A recent visit to my dermatologist at a large university hospital for a precautionary skin cancer check brought this subject up. The doctor informed me no need for anything over SPF 30 as it’s not clinically providing any better protection, just spending more $. He did say to use it daily as it can help keep your skin young.
Everyone’s got an opinion, but I’m putting bank on my doc.
Thank you, Cheri! 🙂 Interesting, we must be related, given the similarities you describe. 😉 Serially (cerally? seriously?), I tend to work outside almost every day and wear a bucket hat, neckerchief, long sleeves, work gloves, long pants, and sunglasses. I don’t like sunscreen residue dripping into my eyes. Maybe I’ll try this. At least I will review it closely. Thanks again, have a great week, safe travels, amd safe stays! 🙂
