Thor Motor Coach has issued a major Thor RV solar panel recall, affecting thousands of 2022–2024 models. Owners are warned that factory-installed solar panels could detach from the roof while driving, creating a serious risk of crash or personal injury.
The recall includes more than 6,000 rigs across two separate safety notices, with remedies expected in early 2026. The recall action is published as two separate recalls. We’re listing them both here.
Thor RV solar panel recall one
Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Twist, Dazzle, 2023 Tranquility, Sanctuary, 2022-2024 Tellaro, Sequence, and 2024 Freedom Elite Van recreational vehicles.
The solar panel mounting brackets may become loose or break, allowing the solar panel to detach. If the solar panel detaches from the roof, that will increase the risk of a crash and/or personal injury. In this case, 4,491 RVs are included in the recall.
Remedy
The remedy is currently under development. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk are expected to be mailed January 5, 2026. Another notice will be sent once the remedy becomes available. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC’s number for this recall is RC000336.
Thor RV solar panel recall two
Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2024 Twist, 2023-2024 Dazzle, Scope, Rize, Sequence, and 2022-2024 Tellaro recreational vehicles. The adhesive securing the solar panels to the roof may fail, allowing the solar panel to detach. If the solar panel detaches from the roof, that will increase the risk of a crash and/or personal injury. In this instance, 1,887 rigs are involved in the recall.

Background
Thor indicates in its report to NHTSA that loose panels have been a reality. Owners have filed claims in both recalls. One recall suggests that the problem may have been that “solar panel adhesive may not have been sufficient,” leading to panel detachment.
That the company has yet to determine a repair strategy may be disconcerting to owners. The company doesn’t plan to notify owners officially until January 2026.
