In the video below we get a tour of the Airstream Bambi, Airstream’s smallest trailer, from the team from Big Truck Big RV.
Even though this trailer is tiny, it still has the essential comforts of home—a shower, toilet, and kitchen facilities.
While small, the kitchen features a 2-burner Dometic stove, microwave, small fridge, and sink.
I love the booth-style dinette surrounded by windows. You will enjoy the views while dining or working in this space. Of course, it also converts to a bed. However, surprisingly for a trailer this tiny, there is a permanent bed set up in the back. So for one or two people, you don’t need to put the bed away every day like you do in most camper vans.
For such a small space there is a fair amount of storage, including under the bed and a large wardrobe closet. There’s also a deep exterior storage compartment. On the negative side, however, with only 450 pounds of cargo carrying capacity, if you filled all of this storage you would surely be overweight.
There is a fully functional wet bath with a toilet and shower.

What’s not to like?
As I have previously mentioned, a cargo carrying capacity of 450 pounds. Are you kidding me? Apparently not. Well, maybe. In the video he says the cargo carry capacity is only 297 pounds!
I am going with the 450-pound weight, as that is what Airstream says on its website. But either way, that is way too low. Fill up your water tank and you are halfway there!
I know the trailer is small, but this is ridiculous. It is expertly designed with LOTS of storage, yet if you filled all those cabinets and closets, you would more than max out what this trailer should carry.
Much as I like the Airstream Bambi otherwise, this would be a deal breaker for me.
The bathroom lacks a sink. To me, this is not a huge deal as the kitchen sink is inches away. But if a bathroom sink is important to you, there isn’t one.
I am not a fan of combined black and gray water tanks. Especially if you are a boondocker, and after having once owned an RV with such a feature, it’s not a good option to maximize your off-grid time.
I thought Airstream had done away with the sliding cabinet doors, but apparently not. I hope they improved them. They are notorious for breaking, or at least they were in the older models. I routinely cursed them in my old Airstream International.

Thank you, Cheri. Looking at the floorplan made me liken this to living in a phone booth with steel (aluminum?) doors. I am sure it works for some AND it can fit every (?) national park campsite, but just way too small for our style. I guess you pull this with a van that actually carries most of your stuff to deal with the minimal cargo carrying capacity. Thanks again, have a great weekend, safe travels, and safe stays! 🙂
$60-$70k for THAT??? Indeed, a sucker is born every minute! Tow it with your Tesla pickup and be seen!!!!
This is craziness! There is nothing about this cracker box I can say I like.
Too expensive for such a small camper.
People who complain about the high price of Airstreams have to understand that this is the only RV that can be passed down through generations. The RVs sold today are usually ready for the scrap heap before they are paid for.
The layout is just like our first little trailer, and it fit us well, but we could never afford an Airstream. Small, compact, cozy, I guess that is we like our old Roadtrek B.
The lower CCC mentioned in the video is probably from the sticker and is the correct one.
