Using the reliable Chivenido USB rechargeable water bottle pump

I’ve been using this handy USB rechargeable water pump for over a year now and it’s still going strong.

As I don’t have a water filter on my RV, and the potable water available in campgrounds often isn’t drinkable (I’ve lost count of how many campgrounds with “don’t drink the water” warnings I’ve encountered in the last few years), I carry drinking water bottles. I have a 5-gallon and a 3-gallon, which provide me enough drinking and cooking water for several weeks under normal circumstances.

This little pump is quick to set up and add to the bottle, and it provides a steady flow of on-demand water at the touch of a button.

Even if you have drinkable water in your tanks, this pump on a water bottle can dispense drinks at a party, or make an outdoor hand-washing stand.

What I especially like about Chivenido USB rechargeable 5-gallon water bottle pump

  • It recharges fast, from dead to full in about an hour.
  • The charges last a long time, as in a month or more of everyday use.
  • It does not take much power to recharge. It took only 3% of my Ugreen portable power bank’s power to go from 0 to fully charged.

What can be improved?

It’s not a huge deal, but it would be nice to know when the charge is getting low. As it stands, you don’t know until it runs out of power as there are no indicator lights. As it recharges quickly, and I am capable of picking up the bottle and pouring water in a pinch, it doesn’t really bother me, but it would be an improvement.

The water flow is fast enough, but don’t expect a torrent or high pressure. In other words, you aren’t going to shower under it. You might be able to wash your hair in a pinch, but you would be rinsing for a long time.

Order the Chivenido USB rechargeable water bottle pump from Amazon.

I hope you put a cover over the bottle to prevent the growth of algae in the bottle

I am not sure what you are talking about? The pump has a cover which you can clearly see in the photo, and of course water bottles are covered when not in use or the water would splash out! I have been doing this for years and have never, ever had an algae problem, not any place, not any weather, not any time.

Same water pump is sold under about a dozen different brands on Amazon. Only differentiation is price.

The reviews on the pumps is not very good. I would have loved one of these, but I don’t really want to waste the money.
