Forest River recalls trailers for missing side marker light

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2024 Puma travel trailers. The amber side marker light may not have been installed on one side of the vehicle. As such, these recreational vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”

Missing side marker lights can reduce visibility of the trailer to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash or worse, which is not a good thing.

Remedy
Dealers will install intermediate amber clearance lights, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 10, 2024. Owners may contact customer service at 1-574-642-0488. Forest River’s number for this recall is 425-1787.

Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Thank you, RV Travel! 🙂 Wow! Another Forest River recall!?!?! Hmm, … I guess they have a template for recall notices and just edit it each week to reflect the most recently discovered recall. 🙁 This could be one of the few efficient and accurate things done under the Forest River umbrella. Yikes! Thanks again and safe travels! 🙂
