Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2025 Cherokee CKT20-0G travel trailers. During installation, an incorrect length screw was used to install the microwave, which allowed the screw to enter the microwave compartment.
The presence of a screw in the microwave compartment can cause electrical arcing, increasing the risk of a fire which can lead to injury or worse.
The recall was issued July 26.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the microwave as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 4, 2024. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-260-499-2100. Forest River’s number for this recall is 89-1819.
Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

AAAARRRGGGG! Another recall, and it’s Forest River again too..😖
We’re barely through 2024 and already Forest River has recalls on 2025 stuff?
Thank you, RV Travel! 🙂 Forest River? A recall? Nah, no way, … yeah, right! Of course Forest River. Were you expecting someone else? … Me neither. 🤔😯 Thanks again, have a great weekend, safe travels, and safe stays! 🙂
Fleetwood should have a recall on failed microwave ovens and failure to install door locks or latches on them and home-style refrigerators that were never intended for RV use.
Knowing how Forest River handles most repairs, it’s a wonder they are actually replacing the microwave and not just removing the screw and patching the hole. Now let’s see how long it will take them to install a new microwave. Months in the dealer’s lot waiting for parts. And the clock ticking on the warranty.
Past experience waiting for a repair to my shower door. Dealer ripped the shower apart before ordering the parts. And then just replacing the door seal which didn’t solve the problem.
