Keystone recalls trailers. Bunk beds could come crashing down

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2026 Springdale and Hideout travel trailers. The pivot brackets on the bunk bed may bend or break. Bent or broken brackets may allow the bunk bed to fall, increasing the risk of injury to whoever is occupying the beds at the time.

The recall was issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on August 25, 2025. The trailers were manufactured between May 23, 2025, and July 24, 2025.

The problem may be because the pivot bunk brackets may have insufficient welds around the extension tube. Evidence of a problem may be that the bunk brackets may appear bent or broken.

Remedy
Dealers will replace the brackets with brackets that have reinforced welds, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 14, 2025. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone’s number for this recall is 25-472.

Thank you for the news, RV Travel! My, my, my! Hardly a day, and certainly not as much as a week, goes by without another example of poor workmanship, poor quality control being announced by an RV manufacturer/assembler. Very sad and disappointing. Have a great week and safe travels!
