I would have a hard time boondocking without this product. That’s because I have the type of thin, fine hair that looks like crap if it is not washed each and every day, which is not always practical. But with a quick spritz of Not Your Mother’s volumizing dry shampoo, my hair looks almost like it has just been washed and styled.
Not only that, but I can use it several days in a row and my hair still looks and feels good. Other brands that I have tried tend to build up and leave the hair feeling dry and dull, something that never seems to happen with Not Your Mother’s dry shampoo.
A long-lost hairdresser first recommended this product to me and she used it for volumizing even on clean hair. I have been a big fan ever since.
What I especially like about Not Your Mother’s Dry Shampoo
—As it instantly absorbs excess oils, it takes seconds to use and my hair looks freshly washed with no water.
—No unwanted white residue or dulling powdery build-up even with multiple uses.
—Available in regular, texturizing, and volumizing formulas.
—Safe for natural and color-treated hair.
—Sulfate surfactant-free, silicone-free, paraben-free, aluminum-free, dye-free, cruelty-free, and vegan.
What can be improved?
Nothing. Not only does this product do everything it should, it works better than most other brands I have tried.
If you’re a boondocker, just want to preserve water, or just not wash your hair as much, I highly recommend you give it a try.
Order from Amazon or check your local drug or grocery store.

I currently use Dove dry shampoo. When I run out, I will give the one you recommend a try. I didn’t notice until the article that the names for the different styles are for refreshing, texturing and body building. I thought they were scents.
Hmmmm. Wonder how the volumizer would work on my hair – (hair singular).
Thank you, Cheri! 🙂 Interesting. As a child, my mother sometimes sprinkled baby powder on our hair and then combed it out. I guess it was a home-made dry shampoo. This stuff sounds interesting. Thank you for the information and recommendation! Have a great week, safe travels, and safe stays! 🙂
Hi Cheri,
Thanks for the article. I was actually in the need for a dry shampoo since our last RV trip had a lot of boondocking days. It seems like a good way to conserve water. I had it in my Amzon cart until I read some of the reviews. Someone said it has some pretty harsh “cancer” causing ingredients. I will put this on hold until I get a chance to do some more research.
