It’s no secret that we RVers spend a lot of time driving. And what pairs well with driving? Listening to music! Or the radio! Or an audiobook! Or a podcast!
Do you ever listen to podcasts? Maybe you listen to a podcast every day on your morning walk, or maybe you catch the occasional podcast when it airs on the radio. Or maybe you listen to one in your RV at night after dinner. Or, as we mentioned, maybe it’s your favorite way to pass the time as you drive.
Podcasts come in just about every flavor you can imagine—true crime, travel, history, comedy, news, RV living, tech tips, and more. Some feel like old friends keeping you company mile after mile, while others teach you something new or make you laugh out loud in the middle of nowhere.
And let’s be honest: Sometimes a podcast is just the thing to keep you awake and alert on a long, flat stretch of highway. Or to wind down at night when you’re parked somewhere quiet and cozy. Whether you’re looking for inspiration, information, or just a friendly voice to fill the air, a good podcast can feel like the perfect co-pilot.
If you do listen to podcasts, would you leave a comment and tell us about your favorite one(s)? We’re sure other RVers would love to hear your recommendations, especially if they share the same interests as you. Thanks!

Podcasts? No, because of hearing loss.
I use Bluetooth to stream podcasts, music, phone calls, etc. into my hearing aids. It’s opened up a whole world of enjoyable listening that I didn’t have before!
No I just don’t have the patience to do it.
There’s probably a podcast for that lol!
This part is me too
I listen to Fearless by Cissie Graham Lynch but mostly watched quilting videos. 😉
What is a PodCast?
Ed, same here. I’m not sure what a podcast is or how to find one, and really have no desire to find out.
Me too. Not sure what they are or how I would find one or on what device.
My current favorite podcasts:
Mike Rowe “The Way I Heard It” Mike is a powerful, articulate and humorous advocate for the trades, for blue collar workers.
Julia Louis Dreyfus ”Wiser Than Me” Julia’s has very candid and enjoyable interviews with famous “older” women.
Love Julia’s too!
Elaine wasn’t bad on the 👁️ and was very humorous 😀
I prefer the written word. If offered, I will read the transcript of the podcast over listening to it.
Just lite hearted ones, love Seth & Josh Meyers, Family Trips, Good Hang, with Amy Poehler & Where Everybody Knows Your Name with Ted Danson & sometimes Woody!
I stay away from anything political since hardly any politicians can tell the truth anymore.
For me, listening to a podcast is old time radio from the 30’s & 40’s, usually when I’m walking the dog!
I have no idea how to find a podcast.
Greg, I don’t either.
My favorite is the ‘Unauthorized Pacific War’ podcast since 2022, with weekly episodes.
If I see a podcast that appears interesting to me, I will listen to it but I use headphones to do so.
Thank you for the question, RV Travel! No, I do not. The only time available to do so is in the evenings and the audio would be too disruptive to DW. I have considered ear buds, but that isolates me too much to hear DW, should she say something or ask a question. Have a great weekend and safe travels!
