Pet owners, this one is for you. We know you all love your pets. Your dog, your cat, is the best dog or cat in the whole wide world! We know that.
What would be better than your dog or cat living forever? Not possible, you say? Okay, what if the next best thing is possible—what if you could clone your pet so you could have the same pet over, and over, and over… and over again?
Some companies are already offering this service, and while the science may sound like something out of a sci-fi movie, it’s very real… and very expensive.
Supporters say it’s a way to preserve the bond with a beloved pet, while critics argue it’s unnatural, risky, and takes homes away from adoptable animals. And even if the clone looks and acts the same, will it really be the same dog or cat you remember?

A clone of my pet would likely look the same but not act the same. It would not be the same. In my opinion, when the sad moment comes be thankful for the memories of all the good times, but say your tear filled goodbye.
When our golden retriever died, we did get another golden retriever. No expectations that the personalities would be the same, just general traits for the breed.
Golden’s are one of the best! We miss ours tremendously.
Imagine how many animals could benefit from a $50,000 donation in your pets name versus spending that amount making a copy of your pet and thinking it the same animal that you just buried….
I was not blessed with children but have had 5 wonderful poodle children. Each had their own personality, strengths and weaknesses. Hoping to live long enough to have #6 and see what the future holds
First, 50k is out of the question. But what we loved about our dog was her personality. My assumption is that is a learned behavior. So a cloan may look the same, but the personality would be different.
I just think they are all different. They expectations would be too high. I’ve had same breeds a few times, but after my Jack Russell I had for 13 years, decided I wouldn’t get another because I would just be comparing and expect the new one to act like he did. Got a rescued Cockapoo who is going on 16 and one of a kind, who can’t be duplicated or replaced and year old Biewer Terrier, who at times want to make sure is never replicated 🙄
Each one of our ShihTzus had their own personalities and all were fun. Would not clone.
