Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2018-2026 Riverstone fifth wheel trailers. The steel hydraulic brake lines may fail and leak brake fluid. A brake fluid leak can cause a loss of brake function, increasing the risk of a crash which can lead to injury or worse.
The rubber line going to the axle may be too short, causing a failure in the line securement on the axle. The operator may notice weak trailer braking prior to failure.
The recall was issued August 26 and may involve as many as 2,379 RVs.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the brake lines, as necessary, free of charge. Forest River will provide all parts and labor free of charge to consumers and dealers. An authorized Forest River dealer will need to perform the remedy to inspect the brake lines and, if necessary, install a longer rubber line and secure the brake lines. Any broken brake lines will be replaced.
Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 3, 2025. Owners may contact Forest River Customer Service at 260-593-2425. Forest River’s number for this recall is 70-1957.

Thank you for the news, RV Travel! Geez, Forest River!?!?! Again?!?!? Can they not manage to avoid making a recall notice some week, any week? Guess their corporate culture places no importance on making safe and sound products. Must, instead, want to be known as a volume producer, not a quality producer. How wasteful and disappointing! Meanwhile, have a great week and safe travels!
