Bet you’ve never thought of these uses for cardboard tubes while RVing
By Gail Marsh
So much of RVing is expensive that I really love discovering inexpensive (or even free) fixes to problems when we’re out on the road. Here are a few unusual uses for cardboard tubes that I hope might help you while RVing. I’m talking about the cardboard tubes that appear when you run out of paper towels or toilet tissue. You might be surprised at how useful these cardboard wonders can be!
Here are 10 uses for cardboard tubes in an RV.

Why does RV furnace light on second attempt but not first?
By Dave Solberg
Dear Dave,
I have a Suburban SF30 furnace in my 2007 Allegro Bus. When I turn it on in the morning, the fan starts but it will not ignite. I turn it off. On the second attempt, it does ignite and produces heat as it should. It shuts off when it reaches the set temperature and restarts as the room cools. I have already replaced the sail switch and the limit switch, those being the easiest and cheapest. Now what? Control board? Igniter? Gas valve? That’s about everything, isn’t it? Thanks. —Mark, 2007 Allegro Bus Read Dave’s answer.

How your grandparents camped—21 vintage camping foods
By Cheri Sicard
In the video below from Vintage Lifestyle USA, we take a trip down Memory Lane with 20 mostly vintage camping foods that your grandparents and great-grandparents ate on their camping trips. I say mostly because the video title is misleading as, spoiler alert, most of the “forgotten” camping foods are still delicious and regularly consumed today. Others, like the walking nachos, are not even all that old. But still, there are some excellent camping food recommendations here.

Look out! There’s a motorized picnic table on the loose!
By Nanci Dixon
Tooling around the campground yesterday I spotted a picnic table on the move. Seriously! I couldn’t believe it—a motorized picnic table for six! I just had to stop the owner, Jim Fischer, and ask him a few questions. (How could I not?) Check this out!

Do you buy cases of plastic water bottles?
Quick tip
Prevent wear between king pin plate and fifth wheel plate
For 5th wheel trailer owners, you should grease your fifth wheel plate before hooking up your trailer or use some type of plastic disc to prevent wear between your king pin plate and the fifth wheel plate. Sometimes the commercial discs are just thick enough that your king pin won’t lock into the fifth wheel plate. You have two options. One, go without a disc and grease the fifth wheel plate. That can be messy and the grease will attract dust and dirt that will cause wear on both surfaces. The option that works really great is to take a thin sheet of plastic and cut out a disc to fit your needs. What I use is a chunk of a roll-up snow sled that kids use to slide on in the winter. They are available on Amazon and you can make several discs from one “sled”. Thanks to our pal George B. for this slick tip.

Is this what you mean?

Yep, I noticed that too but saw the answer later in the Survey Says. Proofreader took a lap around the track, I would guess.
It’s obvious he never attended a HVAC school. Somewhat oversized and a “very interesting” duct job.
Wife must have hot flashes?
I want to see how he mounted the generator that powers that thing….LOL
He probably uses the Soft Start.
I loved the air conditioner!!! My friend has been having a terrible time with her AC in her Braxton Creek Bushwacker leaking. I hope this makes her feel better about her AC.
This air conditioning setup……might go under the heading..”just because you can, doesn’t mean you should”
Thank you, Emily and Diane! 🙂 Yes, “A Woman of No Importance” is a fascinating book. It also serves as a strong admonition to not presume how capable someone may or may not be based on appearance or other superficial measures. I found it well worth the time I spent reading it. Roadie appears to be fully in his element, Karen. 🙂 I hope that you have many more trips together! 🙂 Thanks again, have a great day, and safe travels! 🙂
Roadie – you keep them moving and rolling right along. Clearly you are the smart one! Don
LOVE the rolling picnic table! Our AZ snowbird destination does a Golf Cart Rodeo every spring. THIS would be a blast for an event like that!
Roadie is a beautiful boy! He looks like he is carved from precious marble. And the funny-I’m wondering what he needs to keep so cold??
