Secret Costco shopping tips you should know
By Gail Marsh
“You should definitely write an article about that!” a fellow RVer recently told me. I’d been telling her about the many Costco tips that can benefit RVers.
I’m a Costco junkie. There. I admitted it! What’s to love? Well, there are Costco stores almost everywhere we travel. If there’s not a Costco near our destination, there’s one or two along our route. That makes it easy to stock up as we RV.
Enough about my love for Costco. You’re here for the tips, right? Read on! (Don’t miss the price coding secrets revealed later in the article.)

The Serenova 160LG, by Grand Design, takes a different path, fitting a queen bed, dry bath, big dinette, and garage-style storage into a body that’s only 20 feet and 2 inches long! For campers who want glamping comfort without a heavy tow load, this layout stands out fast.

Are RV ceramic coatings worth it?
RV owners hear big claims about RV ceramic coatings all the time. Some ads make it sound like a one-time fix that keeps an RV clean and protected for years. Ceramic coating can help a lot, but it costs real money, still needs upkeep, and doesn’t fit every owner. That trade-off matters before the job starts. Here, our favorite certified RV inspector, Duane from the RV Inspection And Care channel, breaks down all the pros and cons of RV ceramic coatings.

Why go big? The case for owning a king-sized RV
By Mike Sherman
A debate on RV size is almost a waste of time. It’s a question that’s been debated for years. Everyone has an opinion. Go BIG? Go small? Have you ever wondered when you’re parked next to a huge RV that you may never see the occupants unless they have a dog to walk? For many, that large RV is all they’ve got. There’s no stick home sitting on 5 acres waiting for their return. Everything they own is in that rig. Everything! Continue reading.
But remember… The bigger your RV, the smaller your campsite looks when you arrive.

My RV’s decals are faded and cracking. Can I just paint over them?
The one tool every RVer should carry for troubleshooting
When something in your RV stops working, guessing won’t fix it—you need real numbers. A good multimeter like this one lets you quickly check campground power, test batteries, confirm 12-volt and 120-volt voltage, and diagnose wiring or fuse issues before they turn into expensive repairs. Learn more about it in Dave’s article here.

Worried about counter drop leaf dropping? Here’s an easy fix
If you’re worried your counter extension drop leaf may “drop” at the wrong time, get a short-length shower curtain rod and use it for extra support. Simply put one end of the rod on the floor under the leaf and rack out the rod until it firmly supports the leaf—coming up “underneath the leaf.”
THE MORE YOU KNOW… There are more trees on Earth than stars in the Milky Way. Scientists estimate about 3 trillion trees on Earth and roughly 100–400 billion stars in our galaxy.

Trivia
Today, 400 million tons of plastic waste are produced globally every year. Of that, 19 to 23 million tons (about 2,000 garbage trucks’ worth) seep into aquatic ecosystems, where much of it is colonized by microorganisms or eaten by animals. Plastics take anywhere from several decades to centuries to fully break down. —SOURCE: BBC
Readers’ pet of the day
“Penny is our newest foster fail. She is a pit mix, but we’re unsure of her age. She was listed in the shelter as being aged 1-5. Hopefully, our vet can shed more light. She is a great friend to our original rescue. She does well in the car and loves going in the camper.” —Shelley Siemers

These pop-up advertisements are getting out of hand. It’s literally taken over the whole website.
I agree. And the paid weekends are almost as bad. I have about had it with RV travel.
I just use DuckDuckGo and don’t get any. I really do believe it’s your web browser, not RV Daily. Try switching browsers.
I use UBlock on my laptop and don’t have any issues with pop ups. Get an ad blocker. Many have a free version. I don’t read the newsletter on my phone but both Android and iOs have ad blockers.
I do too! No ads for me!!
It wasn’t so bad when you could x them out, but now they won’t go away. I’m trying to read on a small screen and the ad takes up a quarter of it. If it’s not fixed I’m going to unsubscribe. It’s mostly the same SOS anyway.
Pay a subscription.
Joe, I don’t what you are seeing. I thought we had eliminated pop up ads on our website. We had several comments yesterday so I wonder if we had a temporary glitch in the system. Please email me directly (this goes for others who were seeing offensive ads and pop ups) and let me know what you are seeing. Chuck/publisher, chuck@rvtravel.com
Gmail here….No issues. Today or Yesterday, etc.
But then I need a 4 yr old to deal with all this new stuff.
I don’t get any popups at all on my PC. I have Brave.
I am a paid subscriber, and as such, get no pop ups on my laptop. However, when reading the newsletter on my Ipad or phone, it’s like playing Wack A Mole with the ads popping up.
Odds are your PC browser is using ad-blocker and/or tracking blocker technology.
Many sites complain I am using an ad blocker. Nope. Not true. I am blocking their trackers who pay them to collect data on me.
I personally use the Privacy Badger from the non-profit, EFF. It does not block generic ads, but it will block any URL attempting to track my web browsing. I can (and do) selectively turn off some of the trackers on specific sites once I know their privacy policies. Right now on this page I am blocking 7 tracking URLs. There are others I have specifically allowed as they only collect data for this newsletter’s web server.
I don’t get ANY ad popups on my laptop. I use Adblocker+
For those complaining about pop up ads I have started using Duck Duck Go to open the newsletter and have no pop up ads. Free to download, I no longer use Google for searches and I am getting no pop up ads.
Penny is just beautiful and by the looks very attentive.First thank you for your foster fail – thank you for rescuing! As always adopt don’t shop! I am sure she will love camping. Keep on camping.
Penny is wonderful looking pittie
so glad you found each other
thanks for sharing
Wow! I hope the laugh of the day is just that – a laugh and not a real live picture of a vehicle in motion! Too bad she doesn’t have a clutch so she would have to use her left leg/foot! Talk about cell fones and texting…..Hmmmm……..
Hi, all! We do not allow pop-up ads on RVtravel.com. There is a small ad on the side (on desktop) or the top (on mobile) that you can click out of using the small “x”. The same goes if you see an ad at the bottom of the page. If you are seeing more pop-up ads than this, that is on your computer, not our website.
We have eliminated a good portion of our ads to make the experience better for you. We have taken quite a large income cut from this, too.
You can install an ad-blocker or use internet browsers like DuckDuckGo to eliminate all ads on your computer. Thank you! –Emily
It may also be due to a tracker that came from another website you visited. They copy your IP address and look for you when you are online.
Google is one of the worst. It is a data miner and knows when you are online and will shove things through.
Two things you can try is to completely clear your cache and cookies often, or use a VPN.
I must be too dumb to operate then, but I just closed 6 little xes on my iPhone. I have duck duck go as the chosen browser on my phone. Not everyone sits at a desk or opens their computer daily.
