Silverado 2027 pickups unveiled with revised lineup

General Motors has unveiled the redesigned 2027 Chevrolet Silverado, giving its full-size pickup updated styling, a new interior and a revised lineup of gasoline and diesel engines. The truck is expected to arrive at dealerships later this year, with pricing to be announced closer to launch.

The Silverado will be available in seven trims: Work Truck, Custom, Silverado, Trail Boss, Custom Trail Boss, ZR2 and High Country. Chevrolet has dropped the LT trim name, replacing it with Silverado. Three lifted models—Trail Boss, Custom Trail Boss and ZR2—remain in the lineup.

Under the hood, Chevrolet introduces two sixth-generation small-block V8 engines: a 5.7-liter that replaces the current 5.3-liter V8 and a 6.6-liter that replaces the 6.2-liter V8. Returning powertrains include the 2.7-liter TurboMax four-cylinder and the 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel.

Every engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Chevrolet has not yet released horsepower, torque, towing or payload figures.

New interiors and exteriors

The truck receives a redesigned exterior with new front-end styling, revised LED lighting and updated trim-specific grilles. Chevrolet says the body was shaped to improve aerodynamics while retaining the Silverado’s familiar proportions.

Inside, all models receive a 16.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster. Higher trims add an 11.5-inch passenger display, head-up display and digital rearview mirror. Physical controls for frequently used functions remain. Select models also offer the latest version of GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance system, including hands-free trailering on compatible roads.

Panoramic sunroof debuts

The High Country becomes the first Silverado to offer a panoramic sunroof. Chevrolet also has revised storage areas and center-console features aimed at improving day-to-day usability. Off-road models receive suspension, tire and underbody upgrades, while work-oriented trims continue to emphasize towing and cargo-hauling capability.

Chevrolet says additional details, including engine output, towing capacities, fuel economy and pricing, will be released before the 2027 Silverado reaches dealerships later this year.
