Tour the 2024 Airstream Trade Wind 25FB with back hatch

Lately, we have looked at tiny Airstreams and large Airstreams. Well, Goldilocks, here is one that’s right in the middle, the 2024 Airstream Trade Wind™ 25FB. In the video below, the team from Airstream of DFW gives us a complete tour.

This trailer has some unique features, starting with an empty battery case that can now be used for storage. Upgraded Game Changer batteries are now stored under the trailer. According to the video, these provide so much power, they will even run the air conditioner without the trailer being connected to AC power!

Another unusual feature is that the back hatch opens up the entire back wall of the trailer to the outside. This brings the outside into the dinette or the bed if you are using this area at night. I could see having the hatch open, the bug screen down, and watching the stars.

The kitchen has a large amount of counter space, a 3-burner cooktop, a convection microwave with broiler, a large farm-style sink, and a large electric fridge that runs off the house batteries when not plugged in.

I have always loved a mid-bath layout, and this is no exception. I also like split baths and this one is better than many in that it has an actual glass shower door to keep the water in, not just a flimsy curtain. Also, I love that you won’t waste water while waiting for it to heat up as it automatically recirculates it.

You’ll find a LARGE hanging wardrobe closet with a full-length mirror inside in the hallway and even more hanging wardrobe closets in the bedroom.

Manual stabilizer jacks on a trailer this expensive—really? Yes, really. Ditto the manual awning.

Like many Airstream models, this one is severely lacking in outside storage—just one small outside storage closet and not even a pass-through.

The bed is an east/west alignment, although it is barely possible to walk around it

Airstreams are nice, but the ones I looked all lacked outside storage.

The solar addition is very usable. It probably has something to do with why this trailer is so expensive. Why doesn’t the factory just build the trailer 3″ higher since most people could use that height to get in and out of parking lots without scraping the rear end (or rolling on those rollers some have installed)? I am just not an Airstream fan . . .

This is one of the best tours of an Airstream I’ve seen yet—just the facts. Chris must have been in the military. He didn’t sugarcoat anything.

Thank you, Cheri! 🙂 Well, one certainly pays dearly for an Airstream, doesn’t one?!? That is a large price tag, but possibly worth it if the quality is still there (I have not heard one way or the other). So, although expensive, theoretically very little (no?) time spent getting warranty repairs instead of traveling and camping. Thanks again and safe travels! 🙂

Sadly I don’t think the quality is there anymore, judging from new Airstream owners I have talked to.

I was also shocked, I got to see this one in person (after I wrote this) as a campground neighbor had one. There was so much wasted space in it! That would have never flown in the old days (I have owned several in my life).

Thank you, Cheri! 🙂 More is the pity, given how strong, good a reputation Airstream had. 🙁 I am tempted to blame Thor, but not entirely sure that’s fair. Tiffin seems (from a distance) to be retaining its reputation for quality. I wonder if the difference is because Thor acquired Tiffin after Airstream? Thanks for all your work and safe travels! 🙂

130K for 1,100 CCC? Yikes!
